Campaign Update: Patreon Subscription Change (Patreon)

Patreon has just launched a new way to subscribe to campaigns, and it's something people have been asking for for a long time.

Previously, if you signed up for a campaign in May you only got access to the campaign for May, even if you signed up on May 31st. Yes, Patrons were still getting access to all the content people who paid on the first of May got, but they'd have to consume it all in one day or lose access on the first of June.

Now, if you sign up on the 15th of May, you have access to the campaign until the 15th of June. That's a full 30-31 days of access to the campaign. I think this is a great change, but realize it won't affect anyone reading this post (if you're reading this when it posted). Just know in the future if you leave and come back, you'll get the full 30 days of access.

Per Patreon:

New patrons are charged when they join and monthly on that same date, instead of on the 1st of each month. For example, a patron who signs up on April 12 is charged again on May 12. Patrons will see their next charge date at checkout and in their Active Memberships tab.

I don't know how this is going to affect my release schedule with the four weeks of time off during the year, but this is such a better deal for Patrons that I'm okay ditching the time off if it means fairer access. I'll have more news on that soon.
