Poll: Physical Transformations / Genesis Generations (Patreon)
Content
Hey, Tyler here.
This is a rather complicated subject, so I hope that you'll stick with me and ask any questions you need to make sense of this. Also, there's a TLDR at the bottom in case you don't want a history lesson.
I've become well known in this little pocket of comic creation as someone who puts a lot of focus on showing the transformation from male to female in great detail. I learned to love flip-book transformations by reading Tetsu's female growth comics, and it's been fun to implement it with TG changes. Years ago, Patrons voted to extend the flip-book transformation to 11 frames, so you could see 10% of each step during the transformation.
But there's a problem.
I purchase all my content through Daz, and over the years they've rolled out a number of model generations. If you've been following TG Comics as long as I have you'll have a fond memory of Victoria 4.2, a model that was used extensively before 2011. At that time they released the Genesis Generation, and in 2015 they released the Genesis 3 Generation which I have used extensively. Each generation brought with it better skin textures, posing options and more realistic shaping (If you're interested in the trade this wiki breaks it all down rather nicely).
The reason I love Genesis 3 Females (G3F) is because a wonderful creator made a program that allowed G3Fs to use Male morphs. This is how I'm able to show the transformation in such detail, and here's where the problem comes in. Genesis 8 and Genesis 8.1 have launched since then, but there is no program in place to make gender transformations possible.
Brooke will always be stunning, but she looks fake next to Jules and the new Melanie.
This is problematic for numerous reasons, chief among them being the fact that no new content is being made for G3F. That means I've practically run out of models to use in addition to having no new clothing or hairstyles. It also means that my models are beginning to show their age when stacked up against the striking new ladies rolling off the line and all the new clothing and hair that comes with them.
Haxer's two female leads were made using a reskin of Brooke.
There are still ways I can "fake" the transformation, and I did such a thing with Newfangled. The G8M model of Tyler was swapped out for a G8F model during their time in the Diadem device. I then used a "Trans" morph to make the G8F look less female, then slowly reduced it until the morph was gone leaving a complete G8F. So there are work a rounds, but no way to see a complete transformation like I can do with the G3Fs.
So, the question I have for you today is how important is it to see the complete physical transformation to you? Would you be okay with more instant transformation or ones that happen off camera?
TLDR: I've run out of old models to use with flip-book transformations and want to move on to higher quality models that can't show a total change from male to female. Is that a deal breaker?
