New Pledge Tier, New Funding Goal & Poll Results (Patreon)

We've got a few announcements today!  Read on, or skip to the end for a link to some Patron-Decided Romance-related art :3


The Veteran Concept (Dragon, M/F) won the Patron-Decided Romance poll yesterday with 69 votes!  Ferrywoman (Otter, F/F) came in second with 61 votes, followed by Nurse (Avian, M/F) with 18 votes and Fae Researcher (Fox, M/F) with 16 votes.  Next we'll open it up for your thoughts on character design, pre- and post-TF, once we have the new Grace Chapter 2 build done and out to everyone.  Thanks so much to everyone who contributed ideas and who voted!  (If your preferred romance didn't win, don't worry-- a lot of the themes are going to be covered in the other romantic story lines!)

We also have a New Funding Goal: Interactive Backgrounds!  If we meet this goal, you'll be able to click on objects in the backgrounds to reveal pop-ups that delve deeper into the Changeling Tale lore.  Who's in the framed photos on the MacLeods' wall?  What's the story behind the stained glass window at the church?  We've hidden some secrets in plain sight, and meeting this goal is bound to help you find them ; )

Finally, we have a New Pledge Tier: "Fae Nobility!"  It's primarily a tier for anyone who wants to sponsor the project at a really high level.  On top of our deepest thanks, we're offering pledgers to this tier a chance to watch what happens behind the scenes:

  • Play the First Draft Builds-- These are the really early rough cuts that the Dev Team uses to start planning out asset design.  The story is all there but the placeholder assets can be pretty silly!
  • Access to Dev Chat and Voice-- Watch, listen in, and offer feedback in the Discord channels that the Dev Team uses to coordinate game development.
  • Extra-Special Thanks in the Credits!

The interactive backgrounds sound like such a cool idea! As someone who likes to read more about the background/extended universe of various things, I can't wait to see this!

Just curious, but do the "(M/F)" things listed there indicate gender-changing? Cause it seems like quite a bit for a game that hasn't dealt with it at all so far.

The game has gender changing, yes, but M/F in this context stands for the resulting gender pairing. The voted storyline will be a soldier that turns into a female dragon in the winner.

If he change into a female dragon, I think that you should make him a portrait in the dialog box (and make an option to hide it if player don't want it).

Yeah, there's a lot of doodads in the backgrounds with stories behind them, and we'd love to be able to tell those stories ^^

We're definitely giving some thought to how best to depict Malcolm's transformations when those story lines come! At bare minimum we have plans to show Malcolm in more early scenes to set a base line for folks to become familiar with the character's look.
