I love modern conveniences. I have groceries delivered most of the time (it takes a lot to feed a Bearhemoth!), and sometimes the grocery store may be out of things that they say they have in stock at the time I place the order. When this happens, by default the grocery store will allow the picker to substitute items for what I ordered if the picker thinks they are close enough to the original. Different brands of the same basic sausage or bread, perhaps.

However, sometimes it can be a little ridiculous the amount of items that get substituted, and/or the pickers can make bad decisions. It can get worse if I ordered multiples of one item, so I end up with four or whatever of something I didn't want and wouldn't have ordered normally.

My grocery order this week ended up with sixteen substitutions which was a new record for me. Much of the items I ordered were Halloween candy - which showed up as in stock on the store's website but apparently was not in stock or they hadn't gotten the shipment yet as every one of the Halloween versions of the candy I had ordered was substituted. I ended up with a bunch of candy I didn't expect. Somehow I will have to find a way to eat all this candy, though! I'd hate for it to go to waste.

But I digress. In my latest delivery I also got something I hadn't bought in awhile - Pasta Roni noodles - so I prepared all four boxes of them (twelve servings) in a mixing bowl, basically a huge bowl o' noodles. After I finished them off (they were pretty good!) my belly was extra full, so I decided to make a video of and talk about the swollen aftermath.

Enjoy!
