I was wondering how you cleaned the ferrofluid off the magnets.

If you're worried about coated magnetite nanoparticles in the environment (though they really shouldn't affect anything) - instead of throwing it in the garbage you could mix it with some aluminum powder and do an aluminothermic reaction, then throw the product of that in the garbage. No more coated nanoparticles.
