"Lucien" is just a way for us to track our release !

Hello dear patrons !

Warlocks around the worlds, rejoice ! Eldritch Blast is here, finally ! One of, if not the most often cast cantrip in the game !
A few variations of campfires, bonfires and lots of different sized, shaped and coloured braziers are included in this release and we thought you'd find good use out of extra fire and ardent coals assets (without the wood or stones) so that you can overlay these tiles with existing assets. (I'm looking at you, Forgotten Adventures !)
Hunter's mark made this release as well, although it might prove difficult to use until another module can make use of this efficiently as a condition marker. Let us know if you have an idea on this !
We've also added a few assets to use in combination with "Token Magic FX" special effects for templates as well in the TMFX folder.

We started this Patreon only five months ago !
It's a strange feeling as we feel time has flown by us so fast and yet we've accomplished quite a lot !
We tried our hardest to build a welcoming environment and a structure to help you get started with our assets. There is still a lot to improve on, to regroup all of our useful tips, guides and information in one place, in an easily digestible format. However we feel that all the pieces are falling into place, little by little.
Thanks for bearing with us. We're finding a good rhythm and even if we don't end up making our third release at the end of this month like we planned originally, we most likely will have three for next month !
Thank you all for your support ! A special shoutout to Otigon is in order as well. He has been so very helpful, answering questions in Discord from day one, creating macros and developing the acclaimed Automated Animations module ! We feel that we owe him a great deal, not only finding a way to automate our animations but also generating a lot of traction our way ! So thank you again Otigon, so very much !
Misty Step, Shield and Mage Hand for next release if everything goes according to plan !

How to access our content :

Same as last release

Foundry users

  1. Uninstall the free module. You don't need it anymore (note that all existing paths to tiles from the free modules will be removed in the process. You can fix the links yourself by replacing "JB2A_DnD5e" with "jb2a_patreon")
  2. Download our zip file from itch.io HERE. It contains ALL of our assets
  3. Drag and Drop the 'jb2a_patreon' folder into your modules folder
    (\Data\modules)
  4. Launch Foundry or restart it if it's running. The 'JB2A Complete Collection' should have appeared in the list of modules in the 'Add-on Modules' tab.
  5. Activate our module from your World as you would do any other module and that's it ! Enjoy !

Forge users

  • Uninstall our free module and install our premium patreon module in the Forge bazaar as usual.
Your assets will be in the "My Assets Library" tab. If you want to toy with macros, although the link to the assets appear to have a number assigned to them, macros will function with the "Data/Module/jb2a_patreon/" path like shown in our example macros in our compendium. KaKaRoTo is a wizard !

Other VTT users

  • Download our zip file from itch.io HERE. Extract the zip file and find the 'Library' folder. It contains all of our assets.

Enjoy and thank you again !

Hi, thanks for all the great work. I'm using Forge and the Patreon folder hasn't updated?

JB2A

Hey, do you mean there is no update to our 0.1.6.2 or you can't see your assets in your "The bazaar" Tab when browsing for assets ?

Anonymous

Wow! Thanks for the super swift response. I mean when I go to the assets library and look at the JB2A patreon folder, its the old animated assets and not the new ones. Do I need to manually update? Ie delete the folder and replace it with the new one?

Anonymous

I have JB2A - Patreon Complete Collection installed and updated.

JB2A

Yes, you need to look in the "The Bazaar" tab instead of the "My Assets Library" tab 😄 Let me know if there is another problem !

Anonymous

I've updated in The Bazaar the new assets havent shown up. If I manualy download the zip and uplaod to the file location will that cause issues?

JB2A

It's not recommended. It will count against your allocated space and the path will be different. Have a look at this in our FAQ http://jb2a.com/templates/FAQ.html#AssetsMissing If you still can't see anything, please join our Discord so we can troubelshoot further https://discord.gg/gmd8MAPX4m

First just want to say thank you for the awesome work being done here! Definitely brings to life TTRPGs. Just a quick question though, how do you access the Braziers, Campfires, and Bonfires included in this release? Just to clarify, I'm using the Bazaar within the Forge. I see the new hunters mark and eldritch blast but when I look through the module for the tile sets I only see screenshots.

JB2A

You can browse our assets via the tile browser in Foundry. They are located under "Library/Generic/Fire" Here are the patch notes http://jb2a.com/templates/PatchNotes/Patchnote_Lucien_Patreon.html

JB2A

Ah, if you only see screenshots, it means you are browsing for a portrait in an "image browser" instead of a "video or image" browser. It will state this at the top of the window. I can send you some screenshots on Discord if you prefer, I don't know if I'm being clear !

Do we need to re install the mod? Or will it auto update?

JB2A

It is a manual update every release unfortunately, for now at least. We may look at alternatives in the future.

Anonymous

I am not able to install it in my foundry, can you help me?

JB2A

I have replied on Discord, it's easier to share screenshots that way in order to troubleshoot.

JB2A

I have made an installation guide. For those who are not on Discord, here is the link : http://jb2a.com/templates/InstallationGuide.html

Loving the new Rapier & Eldritch Blast. Thank you for making Me look good...

Please do. I realize Patreon doesn't make this easy, since the only links that can be customized are podcasts (what a weird choice?), so I don't expect this to be fixed any time soon. I'm not sure if any such service exists right now, but something that provides a link that is 404'd when a patron stops subscribing would seem most effective, since you can just update a manifest.json at that point. Manually copying a zip file every 2 weeks to a self-hosted instance is not exactly a smooth experience.

I followed the tutorial, I put it in the module folder, but the module does not appear in foundry = (

JB2A

I have replied in a mail instead because the hyperlinks don't work in comments unfrotunately. If anyone has a similar issue, please copy and paste this address in your internet browser : http://jb2a.com/templates/InstallationGuide.html This is a step by step installation guide. If you still have an issue, please contact us on our Discord as it would be easier to help you from there.

JB2A

This link has now become https://jb2a.com/templates/InstallationGuide.html, thanks GraphicsTroll to point this out in Discord ! :)

I had the free version in my game before becoming a patron. I have deleted my free version, installed the patreon version, but my compendium won't update. When I look at the FX list, it's all the free stuff. I've tried restarting, turning off the module, deleting it and reinstalling, but it won't fix. I can see that the assets are correctly there if I want to make a custom effect, but according to the pictures here I should have access to premade ones like the free stuff, right?

M. McMahon

seeing a similar issue myself :( The animations are in the the module library, but do not appear inside the FX Master tool

Anonymous

You only get the animations, not the macros for using them in game. I was confused too until after I'd paid for patreon and asked in discord. It should be clearer as I see many people confused about this on reddit and discord. Fortunately you can use https://github.com/otigon/Foundry-Macros which has macros for most of the effects (current up to four months ago) or if you use a main stream system like 5e, Otigon's new project (automated animations) works the animations into character sheets. But if you home brew, then you'll likely have to code the macro for use of future animation assets yourself.

JB2A

We are trying to be as clear as possible but it's not easy ! 😅 We've answered this in the second question of our FAQ here : https://www.jb2a.com/templates/FAQ.html Where do you all think we should add this info ? More to the point though, we've added some of our assets as actors because it makes sense to be able to move a spiritual weapon or a flaming sphere around the battlefield and an arcane hand should have an armor class for example... Other assets are better suited to be templates, with a defined measured area of effect. So for these, like Spirit Guardians, Web, Entangle... it is better to set them in the Token Magic FX overrides. Then you have assets like Butterflies or Campfire that are best suited to be imported on the canvas as Tiles because they're going to stay there in the same place for a long time. Finally you have instantaneous effects like Melee Attacks, Firebolt, Arrow and many more that are meant to be played only once. For these, we started a compendium of macros but quickly realized it was too much for us, especially since we're not coders. Thankfully Otigon stepped up and created an external module with all of these macros ! And then he went the distance by creating another module called Automated Animations, directly available within Foundry and works for the DnD5e and the PF1e systems. (I think he added support for Tormenta20 recently as well) We added a few spells in the FXMaster special effects menu but since we have to do it ourselves and the UI makes it quite difficult to navigate, we decided that it would be better if you patrons could request a specific addition to that menu. We want to improve on our information delivery. More concise, more accessible. We're still working on a mini tutorial series to show everyone how to use our assets. I hope that clears it up. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you. And Thanks Paul for the links and the comments !

Great content and GREAT animations! Do you have a list of future content like a roadmap?

JB2A

Thanks ! Sorry I missed the notifiaction for this message. Hyperlinks are not allowed in Patreron comments unfrotunately, but you can copy and paste the links in your browser. We don't have a roadmap per say, we have a survey https://forms.gle/iezLyW8X56m9zdqP6 From this survey (open for anyone), we hand pick a few and place them in a Patreon-Exclusive poll in Discord each month
