Bonus Video: Updated Magnetic Stone Floors and Interior Walls!
This video is highly advised viewing if you are making your first tiles and ever want to use interior walls - these are FAR superior to the original method.
If you;ve already started your floor tiles, dont panic, you can slice the tops off to add these features and preserve your work on adding magnets - but it's easier if you just do it as you build them the first time 🙂
Bonus Video - Magnetised Balsa Wood Tiles!
For similar reasons to the magnetic stone walls video, I'd advise watching this before making any wood floors - the connections you can add here give you far more options in future...
It also rolls in the magnetic wall upgrades from the stone wall upgrade video below, so it's a wall and floor combo!
Apart from that its a great upgrade on the foam original visually, balsa wood for me adds so much quality - but is of course, totally crafter's preference and optional 😉
Patreon Bonus Video - Stone Walls Magnetic Upgrade Tutorial!
This is again, essential viewing if you're just starting with the magnetic building system and you're making your first stone walls. it lets you add magnetic connections for making all accessories magnetic, which gives you a ton more flexibility in later builds...
You CAN add these additions to existing tiles, far more easily than with the floors, so don't panic if you've already started 🙂
it also includes an updated paint scheme, a better scaled texturing method (smaller blocks), and a mention on hiding the magnets on the sides of walls - so it's well worth a view :)
This is the true, final updated version of the mountainblock design.
The 2.0 Mountainblocks are how I would make them from the start if you haven't started yet. Unlike the originals they are magnetic, incredibly stable, easy to make overhangs with on the fly with minimal effort, have less gaps between them, have better texture, can be made with 1" foam instead of 3" and even have modular facings which can be swapped out to make your grey mountain a sandstone desert canyon or…anything really.
I will note that in the video I say to use 6x4 magnets in the core blocks - this is only necessary if you want them to hold large-ish models on overhangs like I show with the hill giant in the video. If you're ok forgoing that capacity, you can get away with 6x2 magnets :)
Bonus Video: Updated Magnetic Temple Blocks
The Superior version of temple blocks with more detailed brickwork, fully magnetised and with corner pieces. The original version is cheaper, but this version is BETTER.
City Tiles Bonus Gallery - Plus Extra Tip for Using Interior walls!
A break down of City Tiles. Essentially this is an extra long view of the city tiles in angles you'd never otherwise get to see. Also, how to use interior walls in cities.
Water Tile Corners and Tile Edges Bonus Video!
This is a little bonus video thank you to patrons for making the channel possible, and shows how to make the water tile corners and the tile edge pieces for making tiles look more rugged and natural at the edges :)
The main reason this got cut from the main video was length - if the water tile video was much longer I'm not sure as many would have watched it!
Resin Alternative Experiments Bonus Video!
This little video shows the various materials I tried and the outcomes as I tried to replace resin and get the best colour mix result for resin. Honestly there's a lot more I could do here but it ran on too long as it was! Hopefully this at least answers some questions if you're looking into it yourself :)
Sewer tile corners and accessories bonus video
This was a simple little video showing the corner variants and 3d printable components used (and the methods used on them!) for my sewer tiles :)
Bonus Video - Magnetised MountainBlocks!
This is my first attempt (V1) at magnetising mountainblocks as it was much requested. It WORKS, but uses more large magnets than I'd like. I don't advise using it, I'd use the mountainblocks 2.0 video linked above :)
Thank you so much to Mat (one of you guys!) for helping me pull this together :) There's more to come!
