1st of 8 Posts in August - I spent 18 months on this video.  I threw away the first filming of it, drop tested it at the California drop tower, studied it, back burnered it, retested almost everything in the new lab and finally felt like it was super helpful and worthy of posting.  For reference, this episode number was #389, my next video I start is #563. Knot videos, done right, take a lot of work to add value to what is already on the internet.  I am happy with how it turned out.

I'm so jacked on what I'm working on right now.  I should be soft launching it in about 2-3 weeks and maybe only to you guys, my patrons.  Maybe you can help me break test it :).  This video was the last video "in the bank" which means this weekend I'll be scrambling to pull together a video from scratch to never miss a wednesday, which I haven't done for almost 7 years.

Today's video: Purcell Prusiks are personal anchors that are supposedly "safer" because they slip.  We show you how to tie them and we tested them a bunch in this episode.  Our data is on our blog at https://www.hownot2.com/post/purcell

Thank you Ryan! What a great video!

Love it. I've been using a Purcell for ages, and I built it out of the BlueWater 7mm dynamic prusik cord. The idea being that both the cord *and* the friction hitch will each absorb some force.
