I tortured you guys with smashing like buttons, 2-3 minute long plugs, annoyingly long outros and youtube cliche crap for years.  SORRY! I have paid for my sins by rewatching and removing parts of all 400 videos. Well, almost, I have 50 more to go.  Even though my original videos were filmed so poorly and I was horrible in front of the camera, it had 0 fluff and was almost more enjoyable to watch.  I noticed once I started breaking things and spending money is when I began to beg for support and it killed the vibe.  I try to keep that stuff to an absolute minimum now.  I need to pay for things and make a living, but I can plug ExtremeGear in under 10 seconds, and only bring up donations every 4th or 8th video.  I recently unlisted over 60 videos which now makes a total of 132 videos unlisted (they exist, but not live or searchable on the internet).  I "only" have left 400 of the most helpful videos on the channel and all the bs is cut out of them.

Photo of Excel Sheet: I number and spreadsheet every episode and there is over 20 things to do to publish a 100% done video.

  • I think I have figured out how to logistically give away things.  This coming Wednesday's video I'll be starting that.
  • I just asked Instron for a $250,000 tensile tester in exchange for exposure!  Wish me luck 😂.  I want to do better science for you guys, let's see if they bite.
  • Big Wall Bible should be cleaned up a bit and available for PDF download by the next email.
  • Photos: Beal sent me a bunch of Unicore rope to test.  Already filmed the human testing intro - cut a normal rope's sheath while i was ascending it - that was wild!

I know it's a hard decision to take those out. I agree with you though, I've grown tire of YouTube channels in general taking so much time with asking for sub/comments/likes. If I truly enjoy the content. I will like/sub/comment, etc. Some people make that bit entertaining an it's fine as long as it's brief. I like your content & regularly at least smash the like button

I watch A LOT of youtube and I've learned how annoying it is. It's going to be way briefer going forward if at all. I just care about email sign ups right now so that's the only thing I have to spend 10-20 seconds mentioning until people know about it then it too can be super brief.
