Patrons: This is the 6th of 8 posts for March.  Bobby is here visiting and we are going to be doing our first drop test this next week.  The photo is our connection to the tree and keeping it simple now that we know drop testing better, we are using the Linescale 3 which we have established is fast and strong enough for 99% of drop tests we do.  I have a napkin blue print of the abrasion tester we are making to mimic what we saw in Hard is Easy's episode at Mammut's lab.  I'll be getting a nice clear path servo motor that we can program to not only run this but detailed testing with a custom made linear actuator to be a third way to use the same slacksnap slow puller that I have now.  Lots of nerdy reasons we will benefit from that.

Every morning I work on the Bolting Bible for 2-4 hours until my brain stops working and move to the next project.  The cave section is public now and that's a huge huge deal.  The canyon section is proving to be just as difficult.

The diverters work in the slacksnap machine, not sure if I told you yet.  I have used it several times now and is a reliable way to finally test MBS of ropes.  That, plus the abrasion tester and drop tower is setting us up for some deep dives into some specialty ropes to hopefully help fuel progress by showing more people what's out there so we can push limits in our sports.  Think the bolting bible but for knots, splices, and ropes of all materials.  Steve is starting on welding the cam crusher this week too.
