I triloaded carabiners at the steepest angle i could and... you guessed it... it reduced the strength.  Albeit higher than I originally thought.  I believe it's proper term is called biaxial loading but we all throw "triloading" around so often that I am using it here.    Check out  @Hard Is Easy  as he will be going into this more himself!  Results: Lowest force was 10.14kn "Triloading" the narrow side produced higher results.

Would you consider a sliding-x with a spanset on a carabiner a triload?

I think really fat things in carabiners pull on the gates a lot more than they are designed for. I plan on making that a test soon. I imagine it would reduce the strength but not by enough to worry about. I'm curious about opposing carabiners and if they help fix that problem since the spine is on opposite sides

It is an on going argument I have with my rigging buddy. By the way please check spanset and sliding-x, since I think it has wider area and therefore breaks lower
