Taking a short break from making Equestria Girls fan art, I made a Star Butterfly fan art. And there’s an NSFW uncensored version of this art! (I made a post for patrons only)

Now, the thing about this fan art is I wanted to try another way to make cell-shaded art based on Marc Brunet’s tutorial on his YouTube channel, he’s an awesome artist by the way. Here’s the link to the video tutorial if you’re interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEWiYWC1aeQ

I had a lot of fun doing this art using Brunet’s way. But, during the making of this fan art, I found two things that I didn’t like this way of cell-shading:

1) the part of coloring the midcolors is time-consuming; and 2) also related to the first point, what if the character has so many details in their bodies or their clothes, or do I have to do this way in the background, too?

But, while I was cell-shading the art, I was brainstorming about how to make this process much simpler instead of coloring each hue of the art with the fill bucket tool.

Anyway, I will try another one of his tutorials about cell shading. There is another one with the Dragon Ball Z fan art with Bulma and Goku, he does that in another way I think. Going to give it another shot.
