Dear Patreons,

Digital Kitbashing - mixing and matching parts from different miniature styles, is a lot of fun and one of biggest benefits of our Modular component offering.

Let's see what you can come up with for our Diesel Punk Exo-Lords!

We want you to use Blender or another 3D modelling/layout software of your choice to create an original miniature concept using parts from our Diesel-Punk Exo-Lord range and at least one other theme from our Digital catalogue.

The Exo-Lords use a different scale and joint system to our regular miniatures, so you'll need to get creative with how you use the parts - you can scale parts Up or Down to suit what ever you imagine :D

You can see some example Kitbashes from our last competition - MUTANT HORROR

THE COMPETITION

  • Make a converted/custom digital miniature using a combination of Diesel Punk parts (including both November and December) and any previous month's packs.
  • Your submission can be as simple or complex as you like, we are looking for interesting combinations which show off what's possible with the range.
  • Our staff will shortlist 2-5 finalists and put it to a public vote!
  • The 1st place winner will receive a £30 Store Voucher to use on any of our products on www.anvilindustry.co.uk, while 2nd place will recieve a £20 Store voucher!
  • The closing date for entries is 18th December 2022, 23:59pm, London BST.

THE RULES (slightly different from last time)

  • Entry is open to current Patrons only (as you need to have this month's file set)
  • Your miniature must be sent via email as an STL or .Blend file, and must be made up of entirely components from Anvil Digital range.
  • Please make sure the name of your STL or .Blend file includes your Patreon username e.g 'Alex Smith Diesel Punk Space Pirate.Stl' If your User Name is Alex Smith.
  • Component parts from the Diesel-Punk sets should feature prominently in your kitbash. As a rough guide we would expect 50% of the model to be taken from the Diesel-Punk sets.
  • You may then use any components from any prior Digital Forge download, including our website only bundles.
  • You are free to move, rotate and rescale components and make full use of multi-shell functionality.
  • Additionally, you may make use of ONE Boolean cut using a cube, if you wish. For example cutting a barrel off a gun, or a tentacle off an arm (This is to allow further creativity without overly disadvantaging less experienced digital modellers). You can find a very brief guide on how to do a Boolean cut at the end of the Light Mech Video HERE.
  • Send your STL or .Blend file by email to DieselCompetition@anvilindustry.co.uk to ensure it is received and counted. Please include your Patreon username in the email subject.
  • The closing date for entries is 18th December 2022, 23:59pm, London BST, entries after this will not be considered.
  • Only one entry per person.

Any questions? Fire away in the comments or on Discord, otherwise we look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Thanks and good luck!

Another great set, Kudos. But have I understood correctly ONLY one cut ? Just one? Wouldn't it have been much better to have " you can only use Cut " ? This is basically like scratchbuilding or kitbashing plastic/resin models, cutting them up & gluing them is the most you use, if not the only one ( apart from filling & filing, if required )..

Thats right just one single cut. The idea is to give more advanced modellers an option to do something interesting, without making it impossible for people who cant use more advanced modelling techniques to have a chance of winning.
