Another great painting tutorial from Sonic Sledgehammer Studio, this time using a Unity Guard mini from this month's download pack to show off some leather and smoke painting tips and tricks.

Also is it just us or are these videos super relaxing?

Anvil Industry Unity Council Guard - Smoke and Trenchcoats [How I Paint Things]

The Unity Council are classics of the Anvil Industry lineup. Though Afterlife as a game isn't currently on general release - we can hope! - the Unity Council have reappeared via the Digital Forge, with an updated design. As well as full-body trench coats, there are separate torsos with the quilted jacket design, and multi-shell STLs everywhere so you can tweak your prints until they're perfect. Check out the monthly offerings at the Anvil Industry Digital Forge on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/anvildigitalforge/ You can pick up cast resin parts and previous digital STL packs direct from the Anvil Industry website: https://anvilindustry.co.uk/?affiliate=sonicsledgehammer Printed on an Elegoo Mars 2 Pro at 30 micron layer height - 2.3s exposure time on the normal layers, and a retract speed of just 35mm/s to keep from yanking supports off the parts. 00:00 - Intro 00:51 - Anvil Industry STLs - Multi-Shells! 02:00 - Painting Time 13:23 - Painting the Smoke Grenade 16:36 - The Finished Guard Thanks to Producer level Patrons Alan Nuttall, Kyrie Crawford, Trainboy, and Jimmy - as well as all the other Patrons that made this video possible, and Exit23 Games for recording equipment that helps keep the channel ticking over! Cheers, team! I feel like I'm probably biased, so I might not be the person to ask about how relaxing they are... 😅 The smoke here didn't quite come out as I'd intended - I'd probably swap for a green or yellow next time - but I'm pretty happy with the leather coat for how little time it took. The detail on these sculpts is super easy to catch with a drybrush, but there's a ton there if you prefer to take your time and really enjoy the painting aspect.

You did another great job! Any plans to paint up one of the UC Mechs?

Liked the look on the smoke, wouldn't have thought it wasn't what was planned! Love the videos, good to see the crossover, enjoying the Digital Anvil content in addition to the other genres. Just need to get the printer cranking out minis and get stuck in!

The short answer is probably not any time soon, I'm afraid. There'd be a massive overlap with the Ajax Mechs video I've already done - I'd essentially paint them in the same way, just pick a different colour for the armour and you're golden. https://youtu.be/GKFGpXDjTmA
