The Unity Council and Pan-Continental Republic sculpts we have been releasing through Patreon recently are from a skirmish game called Afterlife we released through Anvil Industry back in 2013 - some of you may remember it!

We had to pause development of the game a few years ago to focus on the Regiments miniatures range, and we withdrew the resin range at the start of the pandemic so we could focus on our core lines, but the Digital Forge has given us the opportunity to resculpt and rescale the models to be in line with the rest of our 28mm minis (and lots of other systems...).

Below is some of the backstory for the game, and attached is the last published version of the rules. Whilst we don't have the resources to fully support the game currently, you should have enough units to give it a go!

------------

Afterlife tells the story of a near-future Earth torn apart by civil war after the collapse of the Unity Council, a global governing body created almost two hundred years previously to lead humanity toward a bright and peaceful future.

After decades of increasing oppression and brutality by wealthy and amoral governing corporations, the Council's authority has finally collapsed under the evidence of its many crimes against its own people.

Now the planet burns as sprawling Hyper-Cities built for a world of prosperity become lethal war zones. Dozens of corporations, emergent governments, resistance movements and criminal elements engage in an escalating conflict for power, wealth, or simply survival.

With the hyper-cities in a state of lockdown under martial law, the Unity Council is under siege, engaged in high-intensity conflicts across dozens of warzones to restore Unity control. Each day more territories and corporations slip away to forge their own destiny in the chaos left by the Cataclysm.

This April on Patreon, you can download two of the units for the Unity Council!

Unity Guard

The Unity Guard is the Council's elite internal security organisation, tasked with garrisoning Unity Council facilities, protecting high-ranking personnel, and crushing internal dissent. Members of the Unity Guard are drawn from the most loyal and fanatical supporters and undergo further training and indoctrination to ensure their unwavering obedience. In the aftermath of the Cataclysm, the Unity Guard has expanded its reach and manpower, using ever more brutal tactics to crush the Council's enemies within the walls of the Hyper-Cities.

(Just a quick note - this image shows the original minis, the Patreon files are updated sculpts!)

C-48 Warden Mech

CRANE Corporation has long been a market leader in the design of semi-autonomous machines, including a number of military variants leased to the Unity Council Marine Corp. After the outbreak of war, CRANE has converted a number of huge manufacturing plants to churn out legions of mechanised warriors, immune to pain, doubt, and fear. The C-48 'Warden' Autonomous Mech is a common variant, equipped with the 'Firestone' HEAT Missile System and Cannons for use against infantry.

You can find previous Afterlife units that have been released digitally on the Anvil website.

Any chance we can get the Afterlife tokens pdf mentioned on the 2nd page of the pdf? They're mentioned as something needed to play the game, but it's no longer available on the Anvil site.

anvildigitalforge

Sure, have added a pdf with the tokens, you should be able to print them back to back and cut them out.

The file we can download is just named "1" without an extension (but opens fine with a pdf reader).

I figured out I can add the extension. Really weird that it is downloading with random formatting. But it's a simple enough token sheet that I'll probably make my own if I put the game through its paces.

I played a few games of this after the Kickstarter, and I recall it played really well. I've got a painted up force of Unity Council Marines now, so I'll have to dab some paint on my Republic models as well.
