Dear Patrons,

Thanks for your incredible patience! I hope you will agree it was worth the extra wait!

Below you will find your download link for the Light Mech. (A second download link will follow soon with a few additional component options )

You will need to use Blender, a piece of free, open-source CAD software, in order to utilise the builder and reposing files which allow for a huge variety of options.

EDITED TO ADD: In the next download we will provide an STL only version for those of you who for technical reasons cannot use Blender, this will not be as functional or easy to work with but will make the files accessible to more people.  We still STRONGLY recommend Blender for those of you who can run it.

https://www.blender.org/

Do not be alarmed - The Mech Blender files are structured and pre-prepared to make them easy for anyone to use with no prior experience.  If you can use Chitubox and similar basic CAD programs, then with the instructions we will provide you will be happily customising your mech and weapons in no time!

Comprehensive written and video instructions will be produced in the next few days.  I am putting the download link up now for those who want to start looking asap)

Where possible all files are pre-supported, and have been test printed, optimised and where needed printed again, so they should work fine on most printers. The download includes a number of pre supported rifle arm and leg poses, and the option to make any other pose you like (which you'll then need to support yourself, but a video tutorial will be produced with helpful advice on this)

The Link

EDIT: REMOVED - see latest post with new links

As the .Blend files, in particular, can be extensively modified - It is recommended to keep the original copy, and save new versions to work on/edit.

Coming soon :  Full instructions, extra components!

Thanks

Team Anvil

I love the idea of providing the Blender files like this. I'm excited to try them out and see how well this all works in practice.

Once you get the hang of it, Blender is very straightforward for simple manipulation of files and components - I have been using it for nearly a decade and probably only use 10% of its functionality!

So are unsupported versions coming in the next batch? Presupported versions rarely work well with rescaling and I personally like to build a complete version in Meshmixer prior to printing just to make sure I get the size and pose perfect.

Anonymous

Ah the supports are seperate shells that can be removed, that solves that issue.

Anonymous

They're not missing, you just need to export your preferred set-up from the blender files

I'm really unamused at having to compile my weapons in blender to be honest when the rest of the release is perfectly ready to go. Bit of a slip imo.

Anonymous

you have to assemble the torso in blender as well, not just the gun. the creator did it this way because there was to many options and they had to try to accommodate as many people as possible. not to mention its easy as pie without instructions, so tough cookies i guess. I got my monies worth.

Anonymous

You don't have to assemble the torso in blender though. It's all present to print build and glue. Would've been a better shout to put standard weapons in with the stls in the release instead of having the consumer have to shoot off and tinker with software just to complete a print. But thanks for my tough cookies, valuable input taken aboard there.

This is amazing guys. can we get a couple anvil regiment compatible mini bits rigged like this. would love to have an entire army giving the middle finger for when i play my buddy Steve. "f*** you steve!" it would make his so mad lol

anvildigitalforge

You do currently need to assemble the torso, I will upload a "one click" STL of the torso and a couple of guns in the next download, so there will be a "No blender required" option, but it will be limited in scope.

anvildigitalforge

This would be fun, it is harder to rig organic models with cloth elements that look natural. I might give it a go at some point.

this idea is good.... but i have no idea how to do any of these

I am intimidated and excited!

This is literally the best fricking thing ever!! THANKS

Hi all, trying to download the files but the download freezes about 21mb through every time. Any tips?

Anonymous

Yes it stalls for me too...

Just joined up after the Sonic Sledgehammer video -- this looks great! Gonna print off a big one to paint, and then some scaled-down ones to use for a Lancer RPG game my son is running.

The password isnt working for me

Is there any way of getting the files without using Sync? It's absolutely awful on every Patreon I've ever backed that uses it and I'm afraid to say the same is true here as well. UK based if that makes any difference.

anvildigitalforge

We are aware some people have issues and we are looking at alternatives. Are you just downloading the Zip files one at a time? "Download all" button seems to be the cause of a lot of issues.

ok loving all this but for those of us that dont no how to use blender or just want to go a head and print it without any fuss can the mech be printed with out messing with blender ?

anvildigitalforge

I will do an STL version for people who don't want to use Blender, but it will only be a couple of options. The kit is aimed at people who are happy to spend some time building it digitally, much like you would a physical plastic kit. The video instructions will make the process a lot more straightforward seeming!

Where are the files? I joined the Patreon for access to the Mech files, and now they are gone? Are they coming back? It's not very clear.
