New ETA & Progress (Patreon)

I hope this finds you in a good mood. (^^’)
I put random panels from different chapters above to avoid spoilers.

Three things on this update:
New ETA, webtoon updates & my new way of working moving forward.

1. New ETA

The new updates are expected in November 2023. I planned to start earlier, but unfortunately, I have some important family matters to take care of in September-October. I can’t commit to start consistent posting until those are sorted.

I've reached out to my trusted assistant, and he’s available, THANK GOODNESS!!!!

He'll fill in the colors when I'm away. After family matters in late October, I'll polish them ensuring they are ready to post here in November.

Patreon is paused until then. I plan to resume in November 2023 and keep it going until April 2024.

The hardest part was the writing and drawing the sequences of panels. I’ve been in a great mood in the past few months, so I’m focusing on getting the drawings out while the muse is free flowing. Not gonna worry about color during this time.

The muse won’t be around in September/October cos my mental bandwidth will be maxed out. As much as I love my family, you’ve heard the saying: "Family: can’t live with them, can’t live without them."

My family aren’t artists, drives me nuts when they poke “Are you still working on that stupid comic? Why is it not done yet? What’s the point of it?”

I’m gonna avoid the comic topic altogether and say nope, I’m not making comic no more, so they stop being critical about it. Good thing I never told them the title, so they can’t google it lol.

2. Webtoon updates

Webtoon took down one of my older episode (again) for one line of dialog. They used to only being strict on comic that want ad-revenue, but not taking the ad money no longer giving me a free pass. They go through panel by panel, line by line, on everything posted there.

With my current happiness, it no longer bothers me like it did back in 2020.
I future-proof it, so I don’t have to keep going back over and over again when I may be stressed out in the future.

I just wanna tell my story in peace, that’s all.

3. My new workflow

I make a big batch of drawings and gather feedback before sending it to my assistant. This allows me to go back and  plant scenes that make sense later on. If I were to post as soon as it's ready, I wouldn't have the flexibility to do so.

When I start posting chapter 92 in November, you can expect consistent updates until chapter 97, ensuring a coherent story-line across these five chapters.

I’m starting to tie all the loose ends, so moving forward, this is the method I'll be implementing for MD—working on it in batches. This process give me a peace of mind after the burnout.

I'm aware of the importance of non-stop churning out new content for independent creators, but that's not my focus.

I'm creating at a sustainable and healthy pace, and it makes me happy.
