About Patreon's fees changes [Updated] (Patreon)

Hi there! This post is not about content, but we thought it was important for you to know, as a lot of patrons (and creators including us) are worried about the new Patreon stuff.

Just in case you didn't know, Patreon is on the way to change their fees policy. Maybe with the intention to benefit their creators, but the way they said they will do it is not the fairest one.

In a few words, the most affected patrons are those that support many creators with small pledges, which is the case of many people.

We're strongly against this change, so we contacted with patreon admins telling them our thoughts, and this is the copy-paste of their reply:

Hi Taifun,

Our team is taking all creator sentiments very seriously, and we are reviewing everything we receive as a team to help inform next steps.

This fee restructuring was meant to help creators by giving them more clarity and security regarding take-home earnings. That said, we've felt and seen the impact to creators with regards to current patrons leaving Patreon. We have much more to absorb and learn from the feedback we've received.

I'm unable to share any details or ETAs, but know that Patreon will have more to say over the next few weeks.

So that's all we know for the moment. Let's wait a little bit. Patreon is a new bussiness and they can make mistakes, especially if they did that with good intentions. After all, we're very thankful to them because without Patreon (and of course without you guys) Space Paws wouldn't be possible.
I insist, let's wait a little bit and see what happens and what they decide, they're receiving a lot of feedback these days and I bet they will take decisions in order to benefit of all of us, both creators en supporters.
