hey mates

drew this 'postcard from the year 2029' as part of a participatory event called the Assembly for the Future which took place last week. the drawing is based primarily on a speech that Claire G. Coleman delivered from her vantage point in roughly a decades time.

the event generated responses from heaps of ppl, there were ten dispatches, two artworks and two essays, all produced from the year 2029, after a civil war out of which better forces prevailed. all the responses can be found here: thethingswedidnext.org/dispatches-from-the-future/

thanks for ya votes and feedback last time i sent out an update, appreciated that ! this choice was the clear favy of the options, so im gonna go with that for the cover of this small book thing. hoping to be sending that off to print soon.

ive been experimenting with different ways to print and mount my work, im into this style, inspired by the old union banners from the late 1800s. i wanna learn how to stitch tassles along the bottom, and get into painting the wood gold or some more sickly colour maybe. any of u who hav been supporting my work here for a good while at a higher more spenno tier pls send me a message if there are any pieces that you'd like me to post you printed up like this on cloth, happy to do that 1000000%. will also try put sum options up on my online store sometime soon.

drew this playing around after visiting an Officeworks warehouse site with United Workers Union last week. looking forward to developing some more pointed n kinda journalistic graphic stuff for them soon ~

i heard yesterday that this old cartoon from like 2014 is being analysed by high school students in queensland english classes, for better / worse:

related to the above drawing, i saw this tight gif on twitter yesterday summarising some demands from Warriors of the Aboriginal Resistance:

appreciated this short comic essay about Mickey Mouse by Tom Humberstone. its from The Nibs recent Animals publication:

got this RAFFWU shirt in the mail last week. u can support the Retail and Fast Food Workers Union by buying one for $33 from here if u want. they also have reusable masks, which they're posting out to all their vic members this wk. apparently they will also include a mask in each tshirt or beanie purchase at no cost while they have the stock.

take care if anyone is feeling that cabin fever and needs a chat while in lockdown look me up if u like, im around <3<3<3

sam

PS this fortnights 'Whats On' section i pulled together for the most recent Workers Solidarity Bulletin. alot of the events are online again now that so many of us are back in strict isolation, so i spose those things are accessible from anywhere round the world, thats a plus :-)
