So, I got sick. I don't know if it's covid (it's nearly impossible to get tested right now) and I'm over the worst of it but I've had the same cough for a week now and no idea when it'll go away.

So I don't know when I'll make another video, because shooting in between coughs is not fun, nor is a lot of loud talking, not to mention that it's not a great idea to go to the electronics store etc when I'm still sick. So that's been miserable.

I've had a couple of phenomenally popular videos recently. Setting aside the whole Shorts fiasco, the Ryobi video was my most popular ever, I guess because it kinda targets a larger audience. The X300 video before that was also extremely successful, probably the only time that the amount of effort I put into a video actually compared to the response I got - it was a ton of work to create and got a ton of views, so that worked out for once.

Going into the new year I want to aim a little higher with my productions, as was the intent with the new studio. Daria is back to help out, hopefully I can get things more organized and come up with an actual schedule of video topics so I'm not completely flying by the seat of my pants. The last three videos I've put out were shot weeks before release and that was a huge benefit, made things much easier in my life, and I'd definitely like to do more of that, it just requires an unusually large amount of planning on my part.

I have a lot of wild stuff in my possession and I want very much to try to break out of my usual habits - if there's a resolution to be made this year, it's "more shorter videos." If I can get myself to make 20 minute segments about some of this stuff, I can get a bunch of videos buffered and give myself more breathing room to work on larger projects, plus I think a lot of stuff just doesn't need 45 minutes.

I have this neat Nikon PCMCIA camera that absolutely deserves a fifteen minute video and really doesn't need to go any longer, so if you don't see me release that, I failed. RIP

My little fundraiser for cancer charity has netted $3k so far, which is wonderful and I'm very grateful. If you weren't otherwise planning on making any charitable donations in the near future, I'm still collecting money for the pot on kofi.

Despite Problems, I had a pretty good Christmas and New Year's, including some really fun streams that I think everyone enjoyed. Life is chaotic as usual, but I am going to make the most of this awful new year. Hope you can as well.

Thanks for the fantastic Videos and look forward to seeing others. I too collect the obscure and unusual Electronics. Take care of yourself! Get better soon! For me I prefer the longer Videos but will enjoy any length.
