Peripherals (Patreon)

Doing some videos about Peripherals soon.
A viewer sent me a Hawley wheel mouse, a clever sort of alternate history gadget that actually postdates the ball mouse, yet draws on concepts from much earlier prototype designs in the pursuit of a mouse that can't get clogged with dust. I've never tried one before and I'm excited to see how it performs.
I think I have to do some kind of infomercial demo with it where I open up a normal ball mouse and show that rolling it over some kind of contaminant pulls it up into the body, but I haven't figured out what would be both effective and not disgusting.
The latter image is a Logitech Cyberman 2. I wanted to get the Cyberman 1 but they aren't super common. One showed up on ebay a week ago but it ended up going for over $80 and I couldn't justify it - in theory this one's similar. It's a very strange instrument and very touchy but I can sorta see the justification for it, if the software ecosystem had been better.
I have a half dozen other 3D controllers and I haven't decided if I want to do separate videos or one long roll-up, it's logistically complicated.
