I think Mirror is about both hip hop and the community, specifically the black/poor community. Over the years he spent so much time and energy building this image of a guy who wants to make things better, but at the end of the day he decided he and his family come first. That resonated with me and in a way its fulfilling to see him get to that point in life after doing so much in music. This album gets a lot better when you relisten and pick up all the references to his lust addiction, intimacy issues, savior complex, etc. Take care Beezy thx for coming thru with your thoughts!

My condolences Beezy430 couldn't wait to hear your thoughts. I believe in totality was referring to hip hop community the toxicity of it as a whole. As well as, american culture can go from Lauryn hill I get out or even Joey Badass Miss America

I don't think Kendrick is retiring, but I can see him leaving for a really long time and just focus on overseeing pgLang, doing his other media ventures, etc.

Yall need to put this video on youtube eventually. Beezy's theory on Kdot saying goodbye to hip hop on this album is very very interesting

I think there’s some merit to Beezy theory. I interpreted that Kendrick was talking to a little bit of a combo of his Fans, the black community, and the hip hop community. That Kendrick had done the work to loose his savior complex and no longer put that weight on his shoulders in order to be a better father/ self. I hope he doesn’t retire for selfish reasons but I could definitely see a long absents after maybe a quick run to get his label started( again wishful thinking 🤷🏾‍♂️)

I just love to see beezy get excited and express himself. He's typically pretty quiet but you can tell when something is really inspiring to him.

I would of been cool if Kendrick retired before this album. But man I’m glad he didn’t. I think beezy might be on to something
