At the time of the of F&amp;L, the industry was filled with crunk music for club heads. Commercialized music was all over the radio. When Lupe drop it reset the direction of hip-hop music and set the tone for artists like K-Dot, J. Cole, Drake, Logic and etc.

That's crazy to me. That exact period of time was like a year of resurgence for me personally... AZ, Royce, Crooked I, Atmosphere, Prodigy, Kanye, Lil Wayne, The Game, older Nas, God-status Jay-Z and OBFCL2 Raekwon just to name a few all went on to start amazing new trajectories at the time. Some of my favorite music ever is from that era

If Food and Liquor wins, please take some time to listen to the leaked version of you haven’t already. In my opinion, there are some classic Lupe tracks that didn’t make the final album after the leak. The original intro (Theme Music To A Drive By) is a top 5 Lupe song for me.
