[Color Rough][Crossover] Phoenix Wright and Mega Man.EXE (WIP) (Patreon)

Time to tackle the Ace Attorney & Mega Man Battle Nteowkr crossover project again.

Once again, I struggled with the old composition and didn't like how small Protoman and Megaman were in comparison to Miles and Phoenix, so I came up with another constellation and decided to go with a classic mirroring face-to-face-confrontation for the new composition.

I also tried out a workflow which was pretty unusual for my standards, namely starting with the colors and a very rough outline of the whole composition first. My logic behind it was that I often take too much time with compositions that include many characters, because the lineart at the beginning is very time-consuming, especially when I end up correcting them over and over again. So this time I figured out which colors I want to use and then intuitively drew the silhouettes. From that point on, I was able to shape out the finer details, the shades and lighting and in the end added some slight outlines.

It worked pretty well here and I have a good feeling with this illustration so far, but I can't be certain, if it will work for my future works, as well. I have to try it out more.

I hope it won't take too long to finish and refine this, because I already like this mash-up a lot.
