Answering the question; I was going to suggest a game you can take a long amount of time to go with; "Warzone 2100" it's an open source game (the original publishers made it open source few years back.) Download the 'non portable' version. It would count as fairly retro; and it's the grandfather of lots of real time strategy games. It's tech tree makes Civilization look tame. We played it lots at lan parties in the 90s

Kind of nuts to hear your origin story after all this time. Made me a little sad though, to hear things have gotten bad. I don't personally identify as a furry, despite being equipped for it with the bird-persona (I like other character types too much to buckle down on fwuffy aminals), but I often tell people I was "raised by furries," because I stumbled into the fandom online during my formative years; the friends I made there (as well as listening to you and your chums, 2) were the most positive forces in my life at the time, and I wouldn't be a halfway decent person without that influence. I sometimes find myself praising and defending furries to other people, and what I often like to tell them is how inclusive and caring they are, how accepting and familiar. To hear that all that has turned to spite is unfortunate, to say the least. I really hope things turn around. It would be a shame for an environment like that to disappear forever, especially now that the world's gotten as spooky as it has and people need all the love and good times they can get.
