at least I know I'm not the only one who it seems takes a long time to learn things.

You nailed this! As an asexual myself I can relate to all of this. One thing I would like to add in my experience is frustration with friends who are the typical "I wanna get laid tonight" guys. I understand wanting a relationship, I understand wanting sex even though I don't care for the actual act myself. But what I don't understand is these people who can just constantly ignore a friend of 10+ years for a 2 month old relationship. I don't understand the desire to spend EVERY minute of their free time together. I'm sure most people have seen this before. Someone gets into a short relationship and sooner than later it becomes all about each other in an obsessive way. They ignore their friends, and make excuses just so they can go work on getting laid. Then say after 8 months they break up with whoever it is and suddenly they want to do stuff again. Makes me wonder what kind of friend that really is. Is that even a friend? This exact situation is happening with one of my friends right now (again!) and it bothers me to no end. It is really making me question what I mean to some of my friends and what they mean to me. To be clear I am only talking about hanging out once a week or two, nothing crazy intrusive to their relationship. We are great friends until the pair of boobs comes along and suddenly there isn't time for anything else... I've come to the conclusion that it's just time for me to meet new people.
