One question I've often heard is why people build houses and live near potential disaster areas. If tornados and earthquakes and floods keep happening, why do people continue living there? The most extreme thing nature's thrown at me is Arizona summer heat, so I'm quite glad now to live in relatively calm Europe. Losing friends something I've only experienced as we grew apart or had a disagreement. If some of closest friends died I have no idea how I'd feel.
