FINDING SOBRIETY - DAY 11 || "YOU CAN'T DO THIS"

The last thing I expected on this journey was people who would be against what I'm doing.

There's 133 more of us and we're still with you man :) You are a genuine inspiration in doing this

That your haveing more clearity has me so excited. Keep it up man, im sure your going to have some hard times soon but this is proof that your on the right track

From first seeing the title I was worried, but upon watching it, you are right in every point. Keep up the fight! P.S. I still have some cool camera gear I'd love to send your way. Let me know how I can get that to you. ;)

I hope you don't count me as one of the 'critics' who tells you you can't do this. Because I genuinely hope you can. And you're doing great so far. You need to understand that people who say that you can't do this in some form or another only have your best interest at heart. They say that because they don't want to see you fail. I write these small essays for the same reason. That doesn't mean we expect you to fail in particular, what it means is that self-detox in general doesn't have a terribly high succes rate. And if you are part of that few % that does manage to kick the habit entirely on your own, good on you. I'll be one of the first to congratulate you once you're sober on a job well done. But what I don't want to see happen is you running into a wall as the shot count keeps going down and letting your own pride get in the way of seeking professional help when and if you do start to need it. Even if at some point you start realizing help might actually be useful to keep going, I don't want you to ignore that realization out of pure stubbornness, because that would be a waste of all this effort you're putting in. Don't mistake my criticisms for negativity or rooting for you to fail. Because in mine and many other's cases that isn't what we're doing. We all support you, we all want you to succeed. But we want you to succeed safely, strongly and with minimal chance of relapse. And personally I've never been one to join the army of yes-men whenever someone's doing something like this. I'd rather try to contribute something to the cause by giving you something to think about and voicing my concerns, even if they ultimately turn out to be unfounded. So I'm going to be completely honest and tell you what I think right now. You're doing a great job, you are actually looking better. I can see the clarity coming back into your eyes. The change is becoming very apparent as you go on. And I honestly thought you'd be having more trouble at the half way mark than you do. At this rate I can see you reaching 0 shots with relatively little problems, so keep up the good work. However, it's what happens after 0 shots that still has me concerned. When you started this you said that after reaching 0 shots you would keep drinking 'socially'. I've voiced my concerns about that multiple times but sadly haven't heard you address it yet. I hope you think about that and consider the risks of what might happen when you keep drinking after 'quiting'. Good luck, 2!

I don't whant you to fail but as I said before I seldom seen ppl succes by the way you do it and I am afraid even you will fail but if you do this and prove me wrong well hurray! I whant you to succed in this in this way and so far you do but still I am afraid you will fail. I whant the old joking birb back and I whant you to have good health so keep up and prove for me that you can

When I hear this the first unhappy thought I had was "Don't take away the happy drunk bird". I really hope I'm wrong, and since I'm not yet caffeinated there is a good chance of that. You are doing something I know I wouldn't be able to and I will hope for the best for you always.

I saw telegram! Ought to be renamed Furrygram. Glad you're coming along well, and I agree you should use the negativity of others to encourage you even more to prove them wrong. I'm sure you know there will always be some people who are going to be negative Nancy's, so I'm glad you're making the most of it. You're halfway there, don't stop now. Onwards and upwards! Also, plastic vodka bottles? How cheap is the Russian water you get? Bloody hell. My favourite vodka is Skyy. Good on the rocks and very chilled.

RantingGryphon

I buy the Vodka I do specifically because it's cheap. If I got more expensive stuff, I'd be spending hundreds a month on it. Each of those 1.75 litre bottles were about $10. Believe me, the stuff isn't even close to what I'd call "good".

RantingGryphon

Awww! Well, remember that there can still be happy drunk bird further down the road. But for now, I need to get a handle on it first. Then we'll see about normal recreational drinking again.

First and foremost, we are proud of you. Secondly, fuck those people. You aren't even doing this by you're self, you have all of us backing you. Don't let them get to you. Cant wait to see last day, it will be worth it.

That's so awesome that your regaining your clarity and are sticking with this 2. Just listening to you and watching your videos, you can see and hear the change. I don't think people are saying these things because they want you to fail. I think they say these things because maybe they don't want to see you go back to the way you were, that they don't want to see you end up like a friend or loved one that suffered, caused suffering or at worse died from this. Although I think getting additional help isn't a bad idea, I do believe if a person is strong enough to pull themselves up and realize that they are destroying themselves that it is possible to change. Either way just use that to re enforce your drive to control your drinking. I got to say that watching this has help give me the added boost to work out, lose weight and better my life and I gotta thank you for it. This is helping out a lot. Keep it up 2, we're still here for ya. We still got your back and if you need to talk, send a message. 😊 now continue to kick that ass. Also loving the dead space videos you and featherhoof are doing

This CAN be done. You know that and you are doing great! I think you are right about the negative comments being related to peoples experiences with other addicts. It doesn't help that in our society people like to preach that if you have a addiction you need "help" from someone to fix it. Why can't we help ourselves? Why aren't people saying something to the effect of if you don't like it then change it? Could it really be that simple? Yes. Is it easy? No. I was a daily drinker for over a year and I didn't like how it was affecting my life so I stopped. I can tell you from experience that the more time passes after your last drink the easier it gets to say no, and the less you will think the about it.

Hey 2 congrats on keeping up with it so far. Glad to see you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Don't let the naysayers get you down.

Skyfox

Bullshit, "you can't do this". You ARE doing this! It's wonderfully encouraging that you're not only sleeping and eating better, but also that you're starting to not want your second half of shots at all. Seem like that indicates you're busting through the chemical dependence part of things and your body is telling you you don't need any more. Freakin' awesome! It's also great to see you're not letting the negative comments get you down. The times I've recommended you talk with your doctor about all this or visit a rehab clinic was because I was so concerned about your health with the heart palpitations and the shakes and shits, I was afraid you might wake up and your heart had stopped or something from the withdrawal. So I hope you don't take that as telling you that I didn't think you could do this on your own, because that's certainly not the case. It was purely a health concern.
