FINDING SOBRIETY - DAY 3

I'm getting so much support that I'm not sure how to handle all of it. I'm incredibly grateful.

1: I give you a big hug - hang in there. I belive in that you can do it and as you said we are here to suport you. 2: Never seen that tatoo before.... 3: In early 1800 here in sweden they drank that amount of alcohol that you do. On the subject of not going outside much, I am in a similar boat. I work mostly at home too, and kind of an introvert at that so I don't really have much reason to go outside. There have been weeks where I have not stepped foot outside my appartement door for 5 straight days, just living off what I have in the fridge and ordering food. I realized that had to change too so I started to force myself to go outside on semi regular occurrences. There's this big food market twice a week around the corner from me, so I decided to go visit the market and get some groceries whenever it's there. Just have a stroll there, get some things and go back home. But what may be an even bigger motivator to go outside, literally turn it into a game! You have that shiny new phone of yours, so use it to improve your life. Get an augmented reality game and start playing it. Pokemon Go is one example, but if you're not into that much I highly recommend Ingress (made by the same company, but actually fun to play). Playing games like that give you a reason to go outside and they give you a reason to stay outside and explore your neighborhood. I've wandered around my city for 3 hours last weekend, only going home because my legs were tired and my battery was dead. If you can get into such a game like that you'll have something to take your mind off your detox process. As a bonus there's the health benefit of walking, and the social activity that comes from meeting people in places you usually never go to. Combine it with these videos on the channel, film yourself while you play and wander around outside. You never know what you can get into :)

You're important to us 2. Not just as an Entertainer but as a close friend to many of us you've made us all laugh our tails off with every video or made us think deeply with your stories and if that's just you drunk I can't wait to see what you can do when you're clear-minded

My aunt's an alcoholic and I've seen her mental and physical deterioration over the years. She's a wreck. Glad to see you taking the path of betterment instead of lingering in self-pity and further destruction.

There's a song I'd like you to listen to once you get the chance. VNV Nation - Primary (No link, on phone sorry) There's alot of visual imagery to being in a rocket flying through the atmosphere and taking off to somewhere far and distant and leaving the old behind you. Think of being on that rocket and having to hold yourself on course as you head towards your destination. You've got ground control and all the people back home waiting to hear on your progress and eager for your success. Even if you lose contact, you still know they're still backing you from wherever they may be. So go on Astronaut 2! Houston is on overwatch as you fly ever onwards. :)

It's really encouraging to see how much enthusiasm you have for all this. Keeping positive will really help you stay on track towards kicking this habit. But you do have to be careful to not let some other potentially harmful habit take its place (smoking, overeating, acid, speed, sticking your dick in hornet nests, etc.). Since you want to get outside more, what I'd like to suggest is that you simply go for a walk every day, as much as your gout may allow. For every day you eliminate a shot from your routine, add one more block (or tenth of a mile, or whatever) to how far you go. Go brisk or go relaxed, either way. But it'll get you out of the house and moving. I like Robin's idea of using your new phone as an excuse to get outside and make videos, take pictures, or whatever. There's not much I can really do for you here other than show some support, and surely you know a few hundred other people who would be better at talking on the phone, so I'd like to offer this. Kick this drinking habit, and come December get your birdy ass to MFF so I can treat you to a nice dinner to celebrate. :D

I wonder if the 'feeling something different' (that's a touch shy of 10% less!) is also heightened by the increased awareness of counting each shot. There is probably something to that. If the counting is a "unique experience" to your brain, it's trying to process it, and decide how to file it for long term memory. Keep going. You're going to be okay. We're going to be there to help you. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
