There are three types of items:

• Equipment: immediately put in use. Any latent effects are ongoing.
• Consumable: Usable through "Means" in combat. Potent, but used up after one use.  Any latent effects are ongoing after use.
• Accessory:  Usable through "Means" in combat.  Re-usable unless removed from inventory.  Any latent effects are ongoing after each use. 
• No Deal: If this is the most popular selection, it acts as a dealbreaker and no purchase is made.
