Kristina

Excited to check this out .... Would be Eternally Grateful if you checked out McFly's Power To Play album that came out the same day as Niall's The Show.... June 9th. It's their best work yet in my opinion❣️❣️❣️

eve🐱🏀

seeing this notification at work, can’t wait to get off !! 😭 it’s been a long time cominggg

star

omg FINALLY <3

Giu Bressani

Yes! JungKook was >>15<< when this dropped! And we always talk about how young he was back then, but Jimin and V were only 17, RM was 18, j-hope was 19, Suga and Jin were 20! They were all babies with big dreams and even bigger ambition and look how far we've come ♡

Jenna

YES, THANK YOU SO MUCH MICHAEL

Yukari

Can’t wait!!!

Hailey Lee

OMG BEV, I AM SO READY TO WATCH THIS

Giu Bressani

bts there's a I Like It Pt. 2 and it's a japanese release you should eventually react to! I might like it more than the original one (and I absolutely LOVE the original one)

chimelle6

So many things to say! First of all I had so much fun going through this with you! On the blowing up thing, really there was no ‘blowing up’ moment. There are definite moments that helped them grow, but they really did grow little by little gaining fans with each release. I’d say 2019 was when they really were getting on top of the world and the culmination of that climb was coming together then covid hit before they could have their big tour kind of confirming that. I mean they’ve done amazing things since then and had concerts but haven’t gotten to do the full world tour thing. I can’t wait until 2025 when they can finally really have that moment fully.

chimelle6

Welcome to being far enough back that they didn’t automatically do subtitles and still haven’t gotten to updating it with them. 🤣

Giu Bressani

one very important moment for them was winning 1st place on a music show for the first time after the release of I Need U. It's not a rule of any sort, but it's 'common' in K-Pop that if a group doesn't get a win 2 years after their debut they most likely won't make it in the future. INU was kind of their deadline so getting that win was very important for them especially in Korea. And then I'd point out their first BBMA's in 2017 as a very important moment for their international career, it was when people and media really started paying attention to them and their potential

did i miss the reaction to sla and orul82?

chimelle6

Like is definitely toxic (though still a bop 🤣) that is one of my very favorite things about their discography if you take a full picture look at it. It shows the development of a person and their growth and it’s very much shown through how you interact with someone else in a relationship (romantic and platonic). Starting as a kid then hyyh (that still a kid but on the cusp of being an adult era) then learning to love yourself then discovering and searching your soul then leading into being an individual that can stand on your own (then going into the solo projects). If you compare the way they talk about others and themselves in the songs from the beginning to the end it really highlights that. I’ve truly never seen a progression like that in music before. I mean all artists hopefully are growing but where it is specific and intentional like that.

chimelle6

I think it’s such a perfect little project to introduce themselves. Shows off their rap, a little glimpse into the vocals, some impressive athletic tricks and dancing, shows that they do their own lyrics and beats (which overall was very lacking in kpop at the time and for Joon and Yoongi coming from the underground rapping scene it was very important to them as they tried to bridge that gap between ‘idols and rapping’ and yes that one beat was yoongi’s), and some personality. Very short but very strategic to show off how they were different from all the other groups.

Mariana

I'm sooo happy you're in your final 3, and dropping this video on Jin's birthday (Dec 4th, but it's already that day in Korea)!!!! This was indeed their debut project. The next one should be O!RUL8,2? (Oh, are you late too?) I love to see you have fun seeing their beginnings. There is a docuseries coming out on Disney+ the 20th of December, from the trailers we have seen it goes from their very beginnings. Whether you watch it as a reaction or for yourself, I think that would be a great source knowledge and closeness to them. It's gonna be called Beyond The Star. In Like, I personally always interpreted the "You look even better after we broke up" as a: now that I don't have you I see what I'm missing out and that shines even more. Or something like that. Especially since on doolset the lyric is translated as "You look even better after you became a stranger to me". Also, I love hearing you call V, Tae!!! So excited for the rest of the albums. And also love the Christmas deco.

Mariana

no no, he's doing this trilogy in order, that's why this one came out first

chimelle6

Oh! Joon’s hair … yeah 😅 he has commented on his early years hair a few times like in his born singer verse when he says ‘Sunglasses, hairstyle, I know why you point fingers at me’ 🤣

chimelle6

Also, I wish I could express just how happy your little rant about Tae having some rapping skills would make him. He doesn’t have any official rapping parts (though I guess some of the early stuff could be considered close to it) but there is extensive footage of him hyping the rappers and ‘trying’ to be part of the rap line. He is known as the #1 rapline fan.

Trish

Baby Bangtan! You can really see their progression over the years. They haven't been afraid to take risks and have always spoken out on societal issues. They were already impressive here and I admire them so much for how they have accepted and learned from criticism. So proud of these boys (as they were then) and the men they have become.

may

Yes, you're right, this is their debut project. They debuted with this school theme trilogy: "2 Cool 4 skool", "O!RUL8,2?" and "Skool Luv Affair", so you have two more albums to go to finish their discography. I love the songs on these albums so much, I listen to them almost on a daily basis even with the new releases. You can see the talent and potential the boys always had, even when they were so young. It's so funny to watch you being overwhelmed by rapper Jungkook, Tae's vocals and the overall vibe of the boys haha. One thing you'll notice on the other albums as well is that they've always been great with the lyrics and always wrote about important stuff. I just feel so proud of them and their evolution, everything they achived, cause they're really deserving of all the good in this world, they went through so much in the industry and still remained the sweetest people, only giving us love and comfort. I'm really excited to watch your reaction to the other albums. Oh, and on december 20th we have a new documentaty on Disney+, "BTS Beyond the Star" and by the trailers it's going to be about the boys whole journey, I can't wait to see it! You shoud definitely check it out.

Erica

i was not expecting this today at all im so excited!!!!!

jennptx

Ahh! So glad you loved this! There are actually 2 hidden tracks on the physical album--On the Start Line and Path/Road--which would continue after everyone but Namjoon leaves in Circle Room Cypher. I won't spoil anything about these two tracks for you, but you'll have to start with these when you do 0!RUL8,2? They are really must-listens (BTS hidden tracks are always deep and meaningful, as you know!) One thing to keep in mind as you listen to the School Trilogy is that 2 Cool 4 Skool came out in June 2013, quickly followed by the rest of the trilogy, and Dark & Wild (which is the last one you listened to) was just 14 months later in August 2014. They were really working so hard. Thank you for surprising us with this drop! I know you will enjoy the next two, as well!!

chimelle6

I love that idea of starting next reaction with the two hidden songs if possible!

Michel

With most artists I listen to the discography tends to get better with time, but BTS are one of the few that have been great right from the start. I mean, you debut with No More Dream as a title track, are you kidding me? That song just slaps so hard no matter how many times I hear it. We Are Bulletproof pt. 2 (there's a pre-debut part 1 as well, I don't remember if you've heard it or not) wasn't my fave at first but now it just gets me so hyped up whenever I hear it. And Like is just perfect. This was a tiny project but K-pop groups tend to do that (1-2 EPs before a compilation/full length album), however, it was very quickly followed up by the other 2 albums from the "School trilogy" and with Dark & Wild coming out just a year or so after their debut (are you kidding me again? they were WORKING working). Fetus BTS (as some fans like to call it) was really something, they were so passionate and had so much to say. It's actually quite mind-blowing how good they were (with rapping, singing, dancing and lyrics) at the very start and maintained the quality throughout the years. Their lyrics and message was also something that differentiated from the others - it wasn't common for k-pop groups to 1) be so hip-hop heavy, 2) to talk about social issues, comment on the school system, challenge their peers to not settle for what's being told is the "norm". There were definitily some big milestones in their career but I would say they steadily grew their fanbase with each release. It's even more impressive given the fact that they have always been kind of the "underdogs" and unfortunately sort of a punching bag of k-pop, but they pushed through and kept running. Kept dreaming. Can't wait for you to check out the last 2 albums, I probably love them even more than 2Cool4Skool. Although I listen to all of their songs on regular basis, I still get so excited when someone listens to the older albums for the first time. I don't want to put any pressure on you but it would be awesome if you managed to do your reactions before the documentary about their path comes out before Christmas - it could be the perfect closure for your album journey. And totally agree with some of the comments above me - the two hidden tracks of 2C4S are a must! Please include them at the beginning of the next album <3

Liuzetz

OH this reaction made me soooooo happy! This mini album is precious, you can clearly hear all their intensity,. potential and will on this project. Like is a very good chill song that starts to show their vocal abilities but also, their variety, since the whole project is very hip hop heavy, but they show us they can keep up with other genres which was really important as a showcase for a debut project like this one. As mentioned already, they released this one and just 2-3 months later, they released the second album, with 10 more songs. So, although the debut one was a short album, they released 17 tracks in their first year alone, following up with Skool Luv Affair just a bit after in 2014. They were BUSY busy (well, they always have been since the start). One thing you commented on the first track about RM being very skilled since the beginning, and ahead of the other members at the time, is kinda accurate since he and Suga were the ones with the most experience at the time, with writing, rapping, performing, producing. HOWEVER, RM is not one of the oldest, he is in fact, right in the middle of age ranking haha He is the Hyung of the Maknae line haha We have Jin > Suga > Hobi > RM > Jimin > Tae > JK

bizarre☆azar

Oh! I didn’t take the pretty women line in Like as them saying she glowed up but that she wasn’t affected by their breakup like they were. Like they even say annoyingly, you *still* look pretty.

bizarre☆azar

Can’t wait for O!RUL8,2 and Skool Luv Affair! And hope you get to the hidden track Path from this album and their original Japanese songs in their Japanese versions of albums! (I don’t remember if you listened to the hidden track Sea from Love Yourself Her)

Bangtan is life

I feel like you might not know that both Namjoon and Yoongi were underground rappers before BTS 😅 BTS came out strong with No More Dream as a debut! Like is iconic as well, can’t wait for you to see a live performance of these!🙏🏼 I’m excited for the next two albums after this because they’re sooo good💜

Aishwarya Majumdar

Yay you're here!! By the way, there is a track with lyrics on the interlude beat :) It's called "Monterlude" and it's just Joon but it goes hard. Was a soundcloud gift from them! Like all the other comments are mentioning, this album had two hidden tracks! Path/Road is honestly one of my favorite BTS songs out of their entire gigantic disco. You should totally start your ORUL82 listen with these three songs :)

Bee

omg tae growler era

Valentina MF

I think obviously Lyrics can be interpreted in different ways, but I never took "Like" as a little or toxic song, the lyrics are talking about a break up and the situation of this woman (ex) not being affected by that. It's annoying for him, because in the song the boy is still thinking of her and it hurts, but she's already over and has so much party and romance life now, maybe that can be interpreted in the wrong way, but the song is just about the feeling of being only one in the sad state, meanwhile everything seems ok to her. That "you still look good, pretty woman" is exactly the thought of being alone with the feelings of a breakup, only one suffering and it's very relatable, not only in adolescence, I think depends in the type of relationship and misunderstandings of feelings in the couple, maybe it was just one side :(

clacla

Been here since you listened to BE and I'm so happy about your journey with BTS but also their journey. When you listen to their music you see how everything is connected, it's crazy

EsthefiRose

Please react to Armypedia songs live, is a 2019 performance that they do and sings 3 title from this álbum. You definitely love that ! Borahae 💜
