Michael Beveraggi, have you seen how vocal and outspoken Lauren Jauregui has been the past weeks about Palestine? She is the only celebrity besides Kehlani that is using their platform correctly to spread awareness

So good!! I watched this at the cinema when it came out and had forgotten some deaths, so they took me again by surprise. I was hoping you recognized the main guy from Squid Game, he's such an amazing actor. Also the husband of the pregnant woman was in Eternals (Marvel) maybe you could've recognized him from there? (if you saw that one). And if Busan sounds familiar it's because almost exactly a year ago you did a reaction to the concert Yet To Come in Busan. Busan also being where Jungkook and Jimin are from. Thank for this, and happy Halloween! I hope everyone's doing well

it’s insane to me how much this film has blown up. i watched it first thing when it came out and at the time it was suchhh a struggle not being able to talk ab it ..but then i was suddenly being shown it in socio-political college lectures with hundreds of ppl a few yrs later, and now theres hundreds of reactions to it! it really warms my heart seeing it get worldwide recognition. literally one of my fav films ever. i will never NOT cry at all the sacrifices made 🥹 how does s korea continuously release the absolute best content lol thank you for another great reaction! loved rewatching w you

I can tell you three things Koreans know how to do really freaking well: 1.) Zombies. 2.) Emotions. 3.) Symbolism. (Also, I could list a lot more things, but those aren’t pertinent to this content. 🤣) I have always thought that the husband that sacrificed himself and the jerk business man were both versions of the father. The husband represents the good in the world with caring for others and selflessness while the business man is greed and selfishness. We see in the beginning before the zombies the father kind of teetering between the two with carrying for daughter but starting to let that work obsession greed starting to take over. I think the moment that really shines and is a turning point of character development is when the husband sacrifices himself. The father is with the husband until right before he dies and with his death it’s like the father then chooses to take that role and runs to open the other door where the business man is in the other side trying to keep it closed and there is a really beautiful shot where you can see both their faces through the glass staring at each other as they fight and I believe it represents him fighting that greed within himself, fighting the person he would become if he continued down the path he was on. The husband and business man turning was foreshadowing that he would turn as well, since they were the two sides of him. But the means of their turning were extremely different one sacrificial feeling brave protective and at peace with the decision while the other was selfish and lead to fear. The father also changing through sacrifice and protection solidified his character development and allowing him to be at peace as well.

Shoot I haven’t written such long posts in here in a while. 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ sorry haha Fun fact the head baseball/teen boyfriend guy is Choi Woosik. He is in Parasite (more on that movie below) and a bunch of kdramas and one of Taehyung/V’s best friends. If you haven’t seen Parasite I highly recommend! It is fantastic and the amount of symbolism in that movie is insane. More than you can catch right away. It is directed by Bong Joon Ho, who is a master! He also made a movie called snowpiercer (it’s mentioned in the bts song Spring day) which I also highly recommend. It’s another movie on a train lol but he made it with Harvey Weinstein (🤢🤮) and has said that he didn’t let him do everything he wanted so I often wonder how much better it would have been without Weinstein’s interference. Anyways, I could go on and on about Korean content. Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of just silly kdramas but there is soo much good stuff too. They are just masters at storytelling … I don’t really know how to put my finger on it but there is just this element that shows in the west just do not have. Not saying it’s better or worse just that element makes it feel so fresh, I guess is the best way to describe it 🤔 Anyways, anyways, all of us are dead on Netflix is another Korean zombie show. Train to Busan is my favorite zombie movie but that show is really good too.

Jfc what a movie Idk if I'll ever recover

Gong Yoo is one of my favourites, loved him since I saw him in Coffee Prince way back. He's in a drama called Goblin: The Lonely and Great God which I cannot recommend enough, it's my no. 1 kdrama, it's epic, funny, heartbreaking, and the music is gorgeous. I would so love for you to watch it.

Train to Busan is honestly the best zombie movie ever because it is much more than just a zombie movie. They use the zombies as a context tool, the environment but everything else about the story is basically human behavior and reflections of how as a society we are torn between selfish motives and empathy towards others. All the actors in this performed amazingly. The extras sold the physicality of the zombies so so well and you feel anxious in all the chasing and hiding scenes. People mentioned this already but the husband is played by Ma Dong-Seok, a great action actor and he was in The Eternals. The baseball boy is Choi Woo-Shik and he is the son in Parasite (another amazing movie). And yes, Gong Yoo (the father) was in Squid Game and he is a really good renown actor.

Also, since it seems you like Zombie related stuff, I'd recommend watching Kingdom (a Netflix Korean series). It has 2 seasons so far and a prequel short movie. Honestly, it is amazing. It has zombies but the plot is waaaay more developed than just a zombie apocalypse and it is set in medieval times, during Korean dynasty. It is definitely worth it to check it out if you have the time one day :)

I watched this yesterday for the first time. that's crazy. I guess now I have to rewatch it with you. I can't believe you will make me go through this again TT

chimelle6

I’ve been meaning to watch kingdom for so long! I’ve heard so many good reviews.

Kim

Watched this for the first time with you and holy shit. This movie was incredible! I’d always heard good things about it but never got around to watching it, the anxiety I felt was insane! And that little girl acted her ASS off! Such a great film

JoY

This movie always makes me cry at the end. My favorite zombie movie.😭

FlyUshkiFly

I don't know how many times I have seen this, but every time is goosebumps and tears. It's my favorite, too. I hate horror, but love zombies, for some masochistic reason. lol Gong Yu is an old favorite, but everyone was so damned good. I've noticed Korea has really amazing child actors. Kim Soo An is 17 now and growing up beautiful, of course. I looked her up on mydramalist.com to see what she's up to. Winning awards, apparently.

Bangtan is life

I remember seeing how much people hyped this movie up and as a horror movie fan I had to check it out and I’m sad to say it did not live up to its reputation 🙃 have definitely seen better zombie movies

Soph Kim

im a bit late but in addition to the other great comments I wanted to add that during the Korean War Busan was the only major city that never got captured by North Korea and lots of people fled to Busan during that time. so I think that's another layer as well

Nadilynn

Great watching with you. If you ever decide to watch another kdrama I know you will love Goblin also called Guardian the great and lonely God. Thx
