I know I've been a little quiet on here, as the world has been so heavy lately. I hope everyone is doing as well as possible and lets all have a few more escapes together this October <3g

Excited for this, but also the possibility of it not being the only one has me itching because that #2 spot I was really holding out hope for. 😉 Also, group hug and deep breath for this world. It’s so heavy, but I’m so grateful for the good we do have, like this community.

Lailah

the look to the camera after saying bricked up LMAO

i remember watching this at a sleepover ages ago and i didn't sleep for a week 😭 definitely an easier watch as an adult

I've been waiting for this, so happy to spend some time with you💜💜 Hugs for everyone who are having a heavy month and all my prayers are for justice and better times

What a surprise I love coraline

You mentioning multiple times that it feels like a Christmas movie makes me want you to watch Nightmare Before Christmas. Often Coraline and NMBC get pinned each other but I think they’re great for background noise one after the other. Similar ‘moods’ but very different from each other. I realize my post above was hyping train to Busan and now I’m hyping nmbc, but I just really like spooky season, okay? 🤣

beth

absolutely hated this as a kid, i still have nightmares to this day of finding a little door in the closet behind my clothes lol. but regardless, i can never get sick of this movie!! every time i rewatch, it's like i'm watching it for the first time just noticing and recalling all the little details again. so glad u enjoyed this one! (i mf DIED at the side eye "bricked up" lmao)

Loved watching this with you! There’s a few easter eggs I wanted to share with you. The main one is that Coraline potentially returned the key to the Other Mother at the end. When she tosses the key down the well, the creators of the film paralleled the inside of the well to the portal through the door - it looks suspiciously similar, too similar. A ring of mushrooms is often believed to be a fairy portal to steal children in old folklore, specifically around the UK, and there’s very obviously (purposefully) one around the well. After she tosses it, the camera pans to the moon, where the Other Mother’s hands are around it in the form of clouds. In the final shot of the film, the cat is standing on the Pink Palace sign and disappears into the wood post, implying he went back into the Other Mother’s world. Wybee also mentioned in the beginning that if you were to go the bottom of the well, you would see a sky full of stars in the middle of the day and it is always nighttime in that world. Another cool detail is that there are 3 ghost children and the actresses had 3 bowls of candy with specific years. It is often theorized that those were the years the 3 children were stolen because its such an odd, precise detail to include. Finally, this movie is based off a book but I’ve heard the creators took creative liberty. There’s been talk of a Coraline 2 for a few years but I’m unsure if we’ll ever get one. I prefer it as a one-off movie, personally. Definitely a lot of cool theory videos out on Youtube regarding this movie and I think it would be really cool to see you react to them.

this movie lowkey traumatized me as a child, but also i’ve always been a big horror fan, even as a kid, so this was one of the movies that started that obsession and it’s why i watch it every year 🫶

Danielle

I would love to see him react Nightmare Before Christmas too!!

Nattie Dior ⁷

I missed the Coralline train as a kid I was all about Nightmare before Christmas but it was fun watching with you you're awesome best 8 bucks I spend each month 😘

Fabiana Domingues

I’m having a heavy month here too, but I’m sending all the love to you my friend. I loved watching the movie with you ❤️

Vanessa

btw this wasnt on the poll as im not sure how adult vibes your fine with but i highly recommend the rocky horror picture show as a classic campy musical that i watch every october (if you havent already seen it)

Sending so much love to everyone during these times. soo glad u watched this one, this is one of my favourite movies of all time! Like you said there are so many details in this movie. one of my favourite ones that I learned about was that on the cake that the other mother made her, it said welcome home. In graphology (which is the study of handwriting), a double loop on the O means that the person is lying. so on the cake, the O in welcome has only one loop (which means she is welcome) and the O in home is double looped (which means it's a lie and that she is not home). SO much thought went into this movie

victoria

just wanted to address the question you had in the beginning of the film. coraline is stop motion and claymation! took 4 years to make.

Soren

I used to babysit a 3-year-old who adored this movie. This movie has always freaked me the fuck out 😂 Looking forward to watching it with you

Hi bev! thanks for this, and thanks for everything else you do. You're for sure a bright spot in my day whenever you post.

Heather

Take care of you, friend.

Angela

I hope you are doing well! Great reaction as always. I love love love this movie. It’s even better on a rewatch. The voice of the cat is Keith David.

Dani 💤

Loved this so Much!

Giorgia M

This scared the sh*t out of me as a child and I could not appreciate it until I was an adult !!!!! Which is a shame because it has so much beauty and wonder for a child to appreciate but what can I say? I’m a scaredy cat 🖤

Nadilynn

Thx for all the entertainment. Have to unsub for a while. Budget struggles are real. Thx again

Angelique Juliette

The end credit music is so good as well, so you should def give that a listen when you can. This is one of my favorite soundtracks ever, so hauntingly beautiful.

Talía Caraveo

I remember watching this in my late teens, and loving the visuals and the creativity so much! I knew the basics of the story, but I've forgotten a lot, so this was a great rewatch! The score is beautiful too! The first time I saw it, it was on dvd and it had like a making of the movie feature, if that's something you'll be into I highly recommend it! It was incredible seeing how they made it, maybe it's in youtube now. Hope you are doing well, thank u for this :)

Mariana

I was visiting my brother in law the whole past week so now I was finally able to watch this! There were so many scenes I didn't remember, those downstairs neighbors are something. And yes, the music here is sooo perfect for this time of the year vibes. I can't wait to see what else you picked for a Halloween watch. I hope everyone's doing well <3

Jocey
