Bangtan is life

James Marsden yes he is in one of the Superman movies but he’s also in so much more! You also saw him in Hairspray 😊

Tiffany

Two of the songs were nominated for academy awards and Amy Adams actually sang one at the ceremony.

Tiffany

You’ve got to watch the second one now

Desiree Mclaughlin

Poisoned apples was Snow White, but this movie definitely borrows elements from several classic Disney movies including Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.

onlyastarion

the way everyone is always so confused during the beginning lol 😭 this is one of my fav movies

Lindsay

The assistant to Robert is Jodie Benson the original voice of Ariel!! Also, the older gentleman dancing in the park during “That’s How You Know” were the original chimney sweepers from Marry Poppins!!

Jana Fuller

The voice of Ariel & The voice of Elsa so much princess power in this movie

Mariana

Living for your confusion at the beginning XD I forgot about the animals cleaning part and I was TRIGGERED, almost skipped that scene, but we move. The Pride and Prejudice reference made my night!!! Now I have to watch it. Hoping to see Whiplash in the next poll again, I need you to watch it, it's so good! And if it doesn't win again then you should totally watch it on your own anyways.

Kathryn T

The voice of Belle too. She's the mean women in the soap opera they briefly watch

Kathryn T

I'm so happy you watched this. This is one of my all time favourite movies and something I always turn to when I need uplifting. There's a thousand easter eggs and references to other Disney properties and fairy tales. One a lot of people miss but I think is hilarious is in the opening the trolls loincloth is made from the other Disney princess's costumes, implying he ate them. I've always loved Disney but seeing how unseriously they can take themselves on occasion made this wonderful. This also inspired my first ever cosplay. I made the teal dress she wears in central park. Even though it was partly destroyed by a dry cleaner I still hold onto it because it carries so much meaning for me.

Yeah Amy Adam's is a masterpiece in this movie and I love the soundtrack. I had a good time watching the movie with you 😌

Paige

So grateful you posted this today, the perfect emotional palate cleanser after being completely wrecked watching Coco for the first time 😭

Amy Adams was the most perfect choice for casting in this. She’s so brilliant at playing the naivety and cluelessness without making Giselle seem dumb. I love her so much. I think every reaction I’ve ever seen to this movie starts out with so much confusion about the animated beginning and I love it. This is such a great movie. It’s definitely a parody of Disney princesses, but it’s also so sincere and you can tell that the creators have love and appreciation for those classic movies. The music is also amazing and as you pointed out it kind of gets fazed out towards the end, but that’s totally on purpose. As Giselle is acclimating to the real world and experiencing all these new emotions, she stops feeling the desire to burst into song, as shown by her not finishing the duet with Edward. And another thing I think is so clever is the way her development is shown through her clothing. She starts out in these flowing princess dresses and throughout the movie she begins dressing more modern until you get to the ball where everyone is in these elaborate costumes and she’s in a fitted dress. And of course as others have mentioned there are so many Disney easter eggs in this. Some of them are deep cuts that most people wouldn’t even think about, like the soap bubbles in the cleaning up song (your reaction to the roaches is very relatable btw, so gross), which is a direct reference to a scene in Cinderella. It was really fun to rewatch this with you.

This movie is so good! I haven't watched it in a long time and I enjoyed it so much again! I'm glad you really liked it too! Amy Adams is awesome! Also James Marsden is great! This was great to rewatch with you :)

Mikayla McCord

haven’t seen this in such a long time and i forgot how great it is!! there’s a sequel that just came out called disenchanted with the plot of giselle becoming evil because she’s robert’s daughter’s stepmother… haven’t seen it so idk if it’s good or not

taylor

fun fact: Jodi Benson, who's the voice of Ariel in the og little mermaid plays Sam, Robert's assistant! so when they had part of your world playing in the background, that was a little nod to her! & Idina Menzel, who plays Nancy, is the voice of Elsa & the og Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway!

Angelique Juliette

Lol James Marsden (Edward) is not in Smallville, Supernatural, or Superman BUT he does happen to be in X-MEN as Cyclops. And lots of other things as well.

I loved loved loved your reaction!!! I haven't watched this movie from the beginning in a longgggg time and forgot how long the animated part actually was. I couldn't stop laughing at your reaction to the animated part. And of course my Carrie Underwood fan inside me couldn't wait for her song to start playing `cause I miss the Carrie reactions lol. Not sure if you picked up on it but the narrator was Julie Andrews which was interesting because the older guys in the "That's How You Know" part were the original sweepers from Mary Poppins (just found this out a few weeks ago). Can't wait to see what's next!! Side note: If you loved the fairytales side of this, I highly recommend the Descendants franchise. They are about the fairytale villains' children and Kenny Ortega produced/choreographed/directed them. Great movies.

The sequel, Disenchanted is a fun time as well

So happy you got to watch this one! Amy Adams deserved an Oscar for this role! Excited for more movie reactions!!
