I don't listen to a ton of hip-hop, but I am a huge Kendrick fan, would be so stoked to see you cover his discography! I don't know if To Pimp a Butterfly is the best starting place though lol. It's probably his best album but it can be really dense and hard to wrap your head around on a first time listen, especially if you're not familiar with his early work or his style of storytelling. I'd probably recommend Good Kid MAAD City as a starting point, it's an incredible album, but it's narratively a little easier to follow than TPAB. It covers his upbringing and troubled youth and really shines a light on the harsh realities of growing up as a young black man in Compton. Would highly recommend all of his albums though I think he's an incredible storyteller. :)

Omg! Thank you so much for checking out both videos. So, to answer your question, I think "sea of hope" is a show where artists gather and performe/cover songs for other artists if I'm not mistaken (I'm not really familiar with it) & Rosé was invited in the 2021 season. Rosé is from Australia. Therefore, has an Australian accent. That's why you hear the accent on the As and Os. (Even when she speaks she has those accents like to say "hello", she would say "Hellour"). And, yes she is a musician!!. Her father pushed her to audition for the company she is in currently when she was 15 after seeing the love she had for music. (She is always talking about her respect for musician & music). I definitely suggest doing a deep dive on her and even the group BLACKPINK if you really like what she has to show! They have a small discography, I think you will end up liking their previous works more than the Bornpink album you reacted to. Also, Rosé has another song called Gone from her single album -R-. I think you will like it if you checked it out. It is very guitar heavy & has raw lyrics. (Sorry for the long essay)

would never have expected Ben&Ben here. I was a huge fan of them. 😅I’m not sure if Rose(?) gave some info on Ben&Ben, but they’re a 9-piece Filipino folk pop band. The name “Ben&Ben” came from the twins, yes. They both have Benjamin as their second name. Leaves was definitely one of my fav songs from them. + SB19 collaborated with Ben&Ben. They did the MaPa song together, but the vibe is a lot more celebratory rather than the sentimental/heartfelt vibe we checked out last time. It’s on youtube if you’re interested!!

so happy to see le sserafim in the requests! they debuted just last may, but are definitely a stand-out. antifragile is from their 2nd EP and they're actually coming out with their first full album around may. I think you might really vibe with their music if you ever feel like checking them out. (also, yunjin released three solo songs already and they're really great)

the fact you said Tim Minchin sounded like he was singing a musical is everything.... he actually wrote all the lyrics and composed the music for Matilda (the broadway musical) that ended up winning 5 Tonys and a bunch of other awards... his wordplay and his skills as a pianist are so underrated!! He also wrote a comedy tv miniseries and co stars in it will Milly Alcock (Rhaenyra Targarian in HoTD) ... totally an aussie national treasure lol

I'm so happy you got to hear a sampling of Daesung's incredible vocal prowess. He's such a happy-go-lucky kind of guy that he usually is perfectly content to let Taeyang get all the laurels. The truth is that Daesung is insanely popular as a solo artist in Japan under the stage name D'Lite. I'll have to send you some of those to check out at some point. He's so good. As far as TOP's moon trip goes: he posted on Instagram last week that he's scheduled to go in the third week of April. I'm both proud and terrified lol. I'm SO happy for him and SO scared of a trip like that. The friend and mentor he mentioned in his interview was the billionaire Yusaku Maezawa who is funding the entire trip. He and Tabi go waaaay back. But, Tabi still had to go through the application process like everyone else and was selected out of over 1 million crew applications. You can find intro videos like what you watched for TOP for the rest of the crew on the Dear Moon YouTube channel. The difference in views between his and the rest of the crew makes me giggle

Okay wow so much to comment here. Here we go: Thank you to the person who requested Because of You by 98º. This song is definitely on my Top 5 list of boyband songs. It's also one of my favorite music videos. I'm sad you didn't recognize it. I for sure thought once it started, you would be like "Oh yeah ... okay I've heard this" but nope. But I enjoyed your first listening to it! I loved 98 Degrees and the song came out in 1998 and you were right about which one is his brother. So the members are Nick, Drew (younger brother, almost always with a hat on in the music videos), Jeff (other lead in this song), and Justin. Drew has always been my favorite. When I was younger, I always thought he was singing to me. 😂 And omg I loved your reaction of them being on top of the Golden Gate Bridge. That is a frightening moment. I hope I see more 98º in your future (believe me, when I get back in the custom tier—there will be). They have a lot of great songs. OH and yes, Nick & Jessica's show "Newlyweds" I believe was one of the first reality TV shows that followed celebrity couples. Now on to OTH! When I first saw the friendship test video (back when it first came out last year), I almost cried. Thank you to who requested it. There's a backstory to some of what they said near the end (about reclaiming the show). The women on the show had to deal with a lot of BS behind the scenes (not sure if you heard of it or not) and it's nice that they are standing strong together with their fellow castmates. I always loved the OTH cast. They are one of the rare casts that are still very close. They do a couple conventions a year and it's always fun seeing them all get together. And yes, someone mentioned it before but you saw Joy in an earlier custom request (by me actually) a few months ago. And you NEVER seen John Tucker Must Die?! Oh man, if you ever do a Valentine's Day poll again, please put that on there. Also fun fact: Danneel Ackles (an OTH cast member) who is married to Jensen Ackles (from Supernatural) introduced Hilarie to Jeffery Dean Morgan. And one final note: I hope hope hope hope hope you watch OTH. The music, the friendships, and the drama = perfect show. Yes, it's over the top in some moments but its just well done. And finally, I loved the Taylor Swift filmography compilation. I've only seen her in the Hannah Montana Movie. Fun fact: Taylor actually wrote the final song of the movie (You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home). Also Taylor and Miley actually performed "Fifteen" together on the Grammys. It had some mixed reactions but I enjoyed it. I definitely didn't expect that last scene of the compilation but I loved your reaction 😂 Okay, that's a long comment and I'm done. Can't wait for more!

Oh one more thought on "Because of You." So they actually came out with an acoustic version of the song in like 2013. I'm not a huge fan of that version but it's still good. I'll always prefer the 1998 version.

I am so happy you're reacting to jeremy jordan, he's so amazing and underrated and is also a goofballs and one of kindest and sweetest humans. He has some amazing songs and covers that you'd absolutely love. My favorite might be his video "the day I saved the greatest showman" where he tells how he got involved recording the demos of the songs before the movie was greenlight and he was in the workshop that made that happened and sang not just hugh Jackman's but also zac Efron's song which he hadn't been cast at that point... He has also newsies and the last 5 years which are so freaking amazing ❤️

Also - really love seeing the classical south asian music! The lyricism in love songs written in urdu and hindi is just absolutely beautiful, and some of the complexity and poetry gets lost in translation, but glad to see you still appreciate that aspect!

You'll keep seeing that Dumpling incident between V and Jimin mentioned a lot (you've actually seen it at least twice more in other custom requests) I hope someone requests 4o'clock next, this song was written during the couple of days of that disagreement. Everytime I hear Jungkook sing feels like the first time. He has such a beautiful control on his vocals! And yeaaaah That that!! Yoongi made the beat and thought it fit Psy's vibe so he suggested the song to him who of course took it and slowly dragged him along to the point where he featured on it and appeared on the video 🤣🤣🤣. Jungkook saw that dance and never let it go, we still catch doing the dance at the most random times.

Hi, first of all thank you for like 7hrs worth of beautiful songs and your reactions. I have only reached your reaction to rose, so about the show Sea of Hope - its a bunch of Korean Artists, not just musicians but also actors, that have come together and are running this beach shack sort of thing and they prepare performances and food for a group of 10-15 people. They have a group of constant artists who are a part of the series and then a few guests who keep joining whenever the schedule allows. Rose was one of the artists obviously but you are right about the second person, It is Onew from Shinee. I really enjoyed watching this show so it'll be great if you could check it out. Also, I'll probably write another comment cause BTS and a very new and surprising entry - Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Momina, like omg I'm excited. Okay going back to the video :D

I love how you dissect his lyrics and OMG I was so stoked to hear you say your love for the original The Office and The Ricky Gervais show with Karl and Stephen. Yes you finally got to hear Cavetown! He’s amazing, I think you would really like songs/full projects! My interpretation of the song Home (it’s possibly my fav Cavetown song?)is that he’s struggling to accept himself, struggling with depression and dysphoria(he is trans, but only said so openly pretty recently - you can see “I’ll cut my hair”, “I’ll hide my chest”) and finding his place in society. I think it’s not about a relationship as such, but more just talking to and with and about himself. (The beginning line: “often I am upset that I cannot fall in love, but I guess this avoids the stress of falling out of it” is very personal, since he is also on the aromantic spectrum!) I think you often feel like a monster if you can’t communicate - yes in the way you interpreted it by hurting people in relationships - but also feeling isolated and “alien” (monster-like) if you’re different to the norm, especially as a queer person, if you can’t communicate your identity and feelings properly to anyone, not even yourself. Despite everything, the stars and the universe welcomes him, and he finally feels at home in this place. Just my interpretation, I love how poetic and ambiguous the lyrics are, so everyone can take something different from the song.

It has a lot of music &amp; performances within the show that are something i think you would love. All the actors spent a year learning to play as a band &amp; made an actual album that is honestly amazing!

I've never seen that clip of JK, Tae, and Jimin harmonizing! I've seen the show they were filming then multiple times, but never looked for deleted scenes. It's hard to believe they were 16, 18, and 18 respectively. Such babies! Both young *and* old for their ages - if that makes any sense! 😅

Loved all of these, Great watch! I agree with everyone else about OTH, I only started watching it because of the basketball angle, but then everything else reeled me in. I’ve come back with some thoughts on possible underlying messages in the That That mv and how it’s linked with the Daechwita mv (my own interpretation, so I could very much be way off): There is the same style car, just in different colors. It brought an alternative version of the main artist of the song (so a second Psy and a second suga/agust d). In Daechwita it is black haired agust d/suga, which ultimately killed the king/tyrant agust d. For That That it brings Gangnam Style Psy (the blue outfit), which black haired agust d/suga ends up killing as well. Both of the personas that were killed were the ones that overshadowed the actual artist. I found it interesting that new psy didn’t fight Gangnam Style Psy, but agust d/suga did it for him. When That That came out Psy said that people in the west only new him for Gangnam Style, some even thinking his name was Gangnam Style (suga raps his, Min Yoongi, and Psy’s, Park Jaesang, real names during his verse). The west had seen him more of a spectacle rather than an artist. I think that he had agust d/suga do it because BTS is becoming a household name in the west and helping have more people see him/kpop as artists/people rather than just a spectacle. So suga kills Gangnam Style to give Psy a ‘rebirth’ as an artist in a way in the west (he has had a long and successful career in Korea). I believe this is why they went for a western theme, because rarely is something placed in a kpop video without reason.

When Psy comes back after being killed he’s in an all purple yeehaw outfit. Purple is a color often used to represent BTS/ARMY, so maybe he was giving a little shout out to them? Ultimately, it’s supposed to be a fun dance song, but speculating kpop videos are always a fun time. Psy had gotten to #2 on the Billboard Hot100, but got blocked by a Maroon 5 song. Nearly a decade later BTS became the first Korean artist to get #1 with Dynamite. And with Like Crazy Jimin became the first South Korean solo artist to get #1, which Psy celebrated underneath the bb post.

im so glad you did farewell wanderlust, it's one of my all time favourites by the amazing devil. completely agree with what you say bout not being able to not analyse every line, i do the same everytime i listen to them and still find something new. can't wait to see you do more from them!
