It's no surprise I never liked Jon Snow, but 6x9 and 6x10 really made me hate him with a new passion. The way he ignores Sansa's opinion on Ramsay for one, but the fact that he completely disregards her experience with him saying "I've been through worse tham Ramsay"??? I'm sorry but he didn't and no men will ever understand this. I can guarantee any woman would rather fight a thousand white walkers than have a glimpse of what Sansa had to endure. And then he has no problem admiting he and all of their men would be dead if it wasn't for Sansa and calling her the true Lady of the North in private, but has absolutely no mind to do the same in front of the other houses, when people decided he was suddenly a king, when he literally sent all of his men into a trap because he's terrible at war planning and keep trying to play the hero all the time instead of maybe thinking for a second. I've been through this when watching this show for the first time, but rewatching it is making me hate him ever more

It’s amazing to see your reaction to Jon’s heritage! When the show was airing Jon being Lyanna’s son was one of the most popular theories so most people weren’t too surprised when it was confirmed, me included. so seeing someone who had no idea hyped me so much, I was so excited!

Now that you know the truth please watch/react to R+L=J from Robbie McD on YouTube. Many watched it after this episode to unterstand everything better about Jon’s parents. There where hints to this point in the show but you won't understand until you see the show a second time after you know the truth. And it's all summed up in the video R+L=J. It’s spoiler free for the future episodes/Seasons.

I'm curious if you will feel the same because you're binging it. Because ultimately the main issue with 7 and 8 are the pace, but you're inherently seeing things faster than those of us who watched it in real time. I am of the opinion that had they written the story they had left and realistically considered how many episodes they needed, they could've told the identical story they did. Instead they said we only want 13 more episodes so we have to make the story fit that. Either way, I'm in the camp of it's still one of the greatest shows of all time.

Can you please check out Vikings next, If you love game of thrones then you’ll love Vikings

I agree with you on this. When I had first watched it, I completely binged the whole thing. During season 7 I didn’t particularly notice the pacing, but it’s when you go back to rewatching older seasons where it stuck out for me. I’ve heard rumors that HBO had thought about giving this show like 10 seasons or something but the writers and producers wanted it done faster. Could be wrong on that though I just remember hearing about that. Regardless I still love this show and franchise. I’m patiently waiting for George to release the last book so that I can read them all. 🤣

Yeah I feel like the cats out of the bag with him on that theory. Might as well😂

Yes. I think a lot of women from here on out saw Jon Snow as the representation of all the comparatively mediocre white men in their offices that get props and respect and perks for the work of women or at the expense of women who deserve it more. And I think that feeling was exacerbated by the political climate of when it was airing (2016-18). My girlfriends and I watched it together and all felt the same way about him the last few seasons.

Damn I’m 3 days late! Didn’t even know you posted the finale already lol. There’s a video on YouTube that I think you should react to called “R+L=J Who is Jon’s Mother” by Robbie McD. It’s a very well done video compilation of all the hints in the show about who Jon’s real parents are.

when you finish everything, go watch this video, it explains a lot of mistakes and how the writers messed up the characters. everyone can have their opinion and tastes, but when it comes to what happened last season, I don't think it's just opinion, it really doesn't make sense what they did, and this video is good because it explains a lot: https://youtu.be/Yc0dwLYUUkE

I know it’s early but you need to watch the reunion show after this! They also filmed a behind the scene for the last series!

2023-03-30 03:51:37 I think the "issue" as you get towards the end of the show is that it sells itself very well. I think the issues really start for me in season 6, even tho eps 9 & 10 are brilliantly executed. I think my biggest problem is in Jon's resurrection, and really even his death. Up through season 5, the show thrives off of a grounded feeling that no one is safe. As soon as Jon is brought back, the stakes are never going to be as high for his character. Granted the show feels a little heartless without Jon so it feels rewarding when he comes back. I think it's the first time they choose flashy twist over grounded storytelling. The writers, while trying to keep the viewers intrigued, start sticking small holes in the story's sail until it's dead in the water. And it's disappointing cuz you don't really realize the ship has sunk until you've drowned. I don't want to ruin anything, it's a decently entertaining ride until it isn't. I'm excited to see your thoughts after it's over!
