sooo i didn't fully know how to feel after the first two episodes. Didn't know what the show was trying to be. But they brought it together in the 3rd episode SO well.

I love how you already mentioned Hot Fuzz in the first episode because YES. Every season has a different vibe and style (which actually also often works well for the season it is set in) and this one is very much similar to the style associated with Edgar Wright and other directors (which is one of the reasons I love this season)

I first have to mention the puppy, of course. So cute! He can join us any time. It’s funny because the Stranger Things fandom is fairly divided by Season 3. For most fans it’s either their least favorite or most favorite season, haha! For me, I love all of the seasons so much that it’s hard to truly rank them. Season 3 really is so much fun, and I ADORE Robin, so I am so thankful to S3 for her. I’m very excited to see what you think of where Stranger Things goes from here. One of the previous comments mentions this above, but both S3 and S4 have their own slightly unique vibe from S1 and S2, and also from each other. I think it’s because the Duffer Brothers have slightly adjusted to story: If you do any reading up on Stranger Things in the future, you may hear the Duffer bros stating how they always had a overall/general idea about the entire story of Stranger Things and how it might start and end. I personally love that because it means they won’t drag out the show just to make more money and ruin the quality of the show like some shows have done in the past. However, I do think that they have expanded on their original ideas with new details and extra story due to popularity, all while trying to stick to their original vision for the show. I think they have done a great job expanding the word and weaving past concepts from the first seasons with the later ones! And incase you didn’t know already, every episode of S4 is over an hour long, with episode 9 of S4 having a run time of nearly 2.5 hours! Strap in, things only get Stranger from here! :D

noah is so freaking talented. apparently season 5 will be focused on will kinda like season 1 so i am excited for that. with the screentime noah gets he honestly makes the most of it. noahs the youngest out of all the kids. noah is 17 turning 18 in 2 months. sadie is 20. gaten and finn are 19 and caleb is also 20. millie is 18. noah and millie are best friends outside the show. its so cute. i do love this season. it is very different from every season even season 4 but i think its kinda a breath of fresh air in the middle of the 5 seasons bc im sure season 5 is gonna be more serious considering its the last. also bc season 4 took 3 years to film you can imagine how much older theyll look next season. but yeah idk i truly love this season it has my heart. the finale tho... prepare yourself.

Season 3 is my fav season it’s so fun and it still fits within the story and having watched season 4 it’s a great bridge between season 2 and season 4… also you were looking down in the beginning after the title sequence it said “One Year Later” so the Russian thing in the beginning was a year before.

I completely disagree with you about the “sitcomy” thing and im surprised you didn’t like the first two episodes especially cause it highlighted the lighthearted times before things hit the fan since you get really freaked out by horror but I guess not lol 🤷🏾‍♀️ They are allowed to make a more colorful season… and I’m sad about your opinion on Hopper I doubt he’s “just trying to get her drunk” but okay I’ll take your word for it.

I think my favorite thing about Hopper as a character is what you said: He goes from being a stumbling douche to being well-worded and thoughtful... when he's with Joyce. He is the definition of a broken person who has been through hell: having to watch his child slowly pass away, his wife leave him, and become dependent on alcohol to numb his pain. He has overall become cold and kinda heartless, but Joyce brings out a side of him that nobody else can, not even Eleven. I truly disliked Hopper for the first 2 seasons, but watching this season made me think about the actual depth of his character.

When it comes to the first 2 episodes, it's important to set up a lighthearted tone before diving into the dark upside down-y stuff. I can see why you didn't enjoy it as much, but I think the show would suffer if it was always bleak and dark. I loved the cheesy 80's retro mall scenes and shopping montages lol

I know the first two episodes may feel lackluster and different but I enjoy them because it’s nice to kinda see them all in more normal settings and situations 😊
