^^^^^ this; however, if you look closely at the intro, the actors will all have their house sigil next to their names. Even though it may not give you all of the answers, it still may help you with what actors are apart of certain houses. Starks (wolves) and lannisters (lions) are just some examples.

Valyrian is an ancient language that is deep in Targaryen history and is common throughout the east (Essos) where Daenerys is currently. I won’t get too into it because this comment would just be too long :) but it is out there somewhere if you want to deep dive after watching the show. Edit: George R.R. Martin is still writing the book series (yes, still, and supposedly writing the last book. I’m waiting to read the series for when or if it gets finished). The TV series basically is directly from the books with some changes in later seasons when the books stop. He is the creator of it all and an absolute GENIUS.

Seriously this is the best part about my Sundays!!! (im in Queensland, Australia so time difference means this is my designated Lazy Sunday viewing time)... this show is one of my all time favourites in history, and watching you become enthralled and love it just as much makes me super happy. I will try not to give away spoilers because this show is brilliant at throwing curveballs and keeping shit epic and its meant to be watched with you on the edge of your seat yelling at the screen and gasping and swearing and cheering (oftentimes all in one episode haha) I LOVE that youre a hardcore Stark defender... no one beats John or Arya in my opinion. but i also so appreciate the antagonists in this... they make you truly despise them so kudos to their acting and delivery. If anyone on this planet likes Cersei id love to meet them just to question their sanity lol Im excited that you're now getting into the meat of the story now we are 3 seasons in. All i can say is be prepared for anything (which you probably already realised after they killed Ned in bloody season one!). The show is really getting into its stride now.. Also love that the budget increase from this season on is on display. The sets and locations and costume and just the whole package is probably the best in the business bar none (even the Walking Dead, which i freaking love, cant come close and they also do an amazing job)

Opiates are made from poppies. So when a maester offers "milk of the poppy," he is essentially offering morphine. Casterly Rock is the ancestral home of the Lannisters, the same way Winterfell is the ancestral home of the Starks. Tyrion wants to inherit Casterly Rock because his brother took a vow not to marry when he joined the Kingsgaurd. Robb wanting to attack Casterly Rock is not a bad plan, considering much of the Lannister forces are elsewhere.

Remember when Sansa was pleading for mercy she said her father had drank milk of the poppy so he wasn't thinking straight. It was actually a smart excuse from her, because that stuff must be strong if they're using it to help with amputations on the battlefield.

G.R.R.M's writing philosophy is that in the real world, characters aren't black and white. I.E. Jamie Lannister, and other characters in the show. So he tries to make realistic characters - who are faced with real moral dilemmas, where sometimes the answers aren't so obvious from their perspective, and sometimes they choose wrong. It's easy to judge from the outside, but given real empathy for their perspective, it's not so easy.
