i think you'd LOVE his older work! You should check it out if you get a chance. "art is dead" is sort of his OG and is wonderful, the Kanye Rant is iconic, basically they're all excellent.

RE white woman's instagram YES! its super relatable! but also i think its interesting because it seems to be a single woman's instagram he's talking about. She posts the picture with the 27 balloon and then the post about her mom (and did you catch "mom I love you give a hug and kiss to dad?" so it sounds like both her parents have passed) where she talks about the boyfriend she's crazy about and the job she loves, then the picture of the CEO shirt and the line about "a ring on her finger from the person that she loves". I think this was a really creative way of telling us what we all know, that social media isn't real and is only a tiny snapshot of what's going on in someone's life. Plus the EFFORT that goes in to getting some of those shots?? Bo was dedicated to this one!

Phoebe Bridgers does a cover of That Funny Feeling and it is one of my favorites!

Happy to see you reacting to Bo! Would also love to see you react to his Kanye rant - Can’t Handle This from MAKE HAPPY

I had never watched any Bo Burnham before quarantine. When this came out, my sister watched it and then immediately texted me and said it was worth watching. I watched it maybe a month after it came out. Like you said, feelings were so raw and it was SO relatable. A lot of the songs became very popular sounds on TikTok and I feel like the world was inundated with these very raw and realistic feelings that we collectively felt. I enjoy all of your videos, but they hit way more when you have cover videos and songs I have known or seen before. I love getting to look at some of my favorites through a new lens. We appreciate what you do :)

Throughout Bo’s comedy career he definitely addresses his self awareness a lot, even in his material like 10 years ago in his song “art is dead.” Make Happy is a great special and I would definitely recommend, at the very least the last two songs to get more context and further appreciate this special (can’t handle this and the following final song, which is set in the same room as inside). Also some people already commented this but phoebe bridgers and bo are friends and she did a cover of “that funny feeling” which makes it a bit more haunting (also after this special came out last year there were also a bunch of musicians on tiktok that added their own lyrics to that song which really added to its impact for me)

This was really cool. I think you might like James Acaster's specials as well, some of which are on Netflix.

This is a really late comment but I didnt realize you had reacted to this until now. So, Bo Burnham has been making music based comedy for a long time, starting with YouTube when Youtube just started. He made funny songs for his family and friends and they went viral. I remember being in highschool (around 2008) and listening to "New Math", "I'm Bo Yo." And "Rehab for Fictional Characters" on my zune because I tormented the audio files off of youtube haha. His song Problematic was talking about how his music that he made at such a young age was edgy and hes really embarrassed by it, and going back and listening too it it was shock value jokes. Bo has always "went there" even as a kid, but now he makes fully formed decisions on what he wants to actually say instead of just coming up with really clever rhymes that make people gasp. When he started doing live shows and comedy specials, you could tell that he had started a war in his mind about the music he was making. He has always been very blunt about his mental health in his specials. He always frames it in a way that's like... hes making a joke .. but I feel bad for laughing... but hes so creative and artistic about it that I feel like this needs to be appreciated. Hes the kind of person who thinks himself in circles to try to find the right answer. I think you should watch Make Happy. That stand up will give you a lot of context to Bo and Inside as well. I have grown up with Bo, so its fascinating to watch someone watch inside for the first time with no context to who Bo is and how he performs.

I did not see this until now!!! I'm so happy you found Bo. His comedy is pretty much all music, it's so great. You HAVE to watch "art is dead" and continue from there... you'd love the messages in most of his stuff.
