I know , I’m a little late to these incredible reactions/commentary’s. And I just wanted to let you(michael) know that it says the video doesn’t exist on my Patreon please fix it🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️

Every time you looked away and cringing whenever Ricky raised his voice, I was with you!!!! I lived for that reaction!!! Lol Olivia's acting in that breakup scene breaks my heart and I agree this is her best performance. Unfortunately for a lead in the series, I don't think they give her much room for this kind of moment. The way they ended episode 8 with Howie singing was sooo beautifully well done and bittersweet. I truly don't know how this series is going to end, but I am really enjoying EJ + Gina, and no matter how the show goes, I just want her to stay happy.

asher angel - the guy who plays jack (airport guy) in episode 9 & sofia wylie (gina) were on a disney show called andi mack together where they played best friends and clearly their chemistry is great because of it! i think that jack could’ve given gina his number like you said but in the overall plot of the season i think jack’s character was needed to help gina realize what she wants in a romantic partner aka realize that she does have feelings for ej and he clearly has them for her!! the way she said she’s getting to the point of being ready for her first kiss but the guy has to show up and then ej shows up for her is no coincidence and i absolutely love that scene. super interested to see how it plays out the the rest of the season and if ej will in fact be her first kiss

For me, episode 7 wasn’t as bad as you seem to think it was. That being said, Episode 8 was fantastic. When I initially watched it, I almost cried and then went back and watched the last 5 minutes and actually cried. I’m going through or have been through (I honestly don’t know exactly where I stand with this person at the moment) so it hit super close to home. Even the 2 or 3 times I’ve watched that episode since, I still cry at that last 5 minutes or so (starting with the treehouse) every time including this reaction. I also really loved how both Ricky and Nini had valid points though. I feel like it’s more on Ricky but Nini hasn’t been perfect either and how much they emphasize that in the episode. I agree, episode 9 was not as good, but still very enjoyable. It’s really hard to follow up such a good episode. I did appreciate that it was mostly comedic. But I really enjoyed Ricky’s scenes and Ricky’s song at the end once again almost made me cry (because of the aforementioned situation). But I still really enjoyed episode 9 as well. Great reaction as always.

I feel like Olivia was feeling some real pain in those scenes too because of everything else that happened outside of the show. It was like she had to relive that feeling and that pain hits so hard 😭

I loved both of these episodes true fact Kourtneys mom is Dara Reneés mom , also the dance number that Ricky wasn’t in , he was sick in hospital roughly around the time they were filming this fighting for his life which I’m still in shock to this day ! This may be why we got the scenes with his mom ,but either way I loved it love how deep and emotionally this season is going with the characters and storylines. I so hope they get picked up for season 3 😁

The last episode was to lay the groundwork for this incredible emotional episode. I enjoy watching hsmtmts with you so much.

I agree! to add, it's clear gina has had a tough go with relationships with the Ricky thing, which caused her to lose a lot of trust and self-worth. So the dynamic with jacks forward and honest character definitely gave attention to gina and allowed her to open up again.

The guy Gina met in the airport said she looked familiar because the real actors both were on a show together a few years ago called “Andi Mack”. Him saying she looked familiar was kind of like a haha moment

These episodes go so well together because episode 8 really sets up episode 9. With Ricky, he knew from the start of episode 8 he didn't really know what was gonna happen. Did Nini plan for it to be a breakup, I don't think so otherwise she wouldn't have cried like she did. I think at this point they need this break. The first time it was due to Ricky not even being able to say he loved her back, which given it wasn't even a word his parents said, I can understand his struggle with that word. I don't really think anyone can truly blame him for that. Though you also can't blame Nini because he did ask for a break right after saying it. At this point, Nini needs room to grow and expand and do what makes her happy, which is taking risks. Ricky needs to learn change is inevitable. Which I feel like episode 9 shows him so much with talking to his mom. So much changed with his parents separating and he didn't want that to change that he was holding onto Nini to not let everything change. Talking to his mom really let him realize what he's done wrong so he can learn from those mistakes. He needs to learn change will be ok. His mother even says she feels at fault for him feeling this way, because it was so much change at once in his life that he held onto Nini to have some sort of stability. It's interesting as you watch episode 9 because you see him struggle a bit with writing, but once he turns his phone on and sees the video Big Red edited, you can almost see the little lightbulb go off. Which is a strange thing when you think its Nini (his now ex) and Ashlynn (who is Ricky's best friend's girlfriend) wrote it, yet gave Ricky the motivation he needed for his own song. Even broken up I think this will hint that Ricky will still go to Nini like he used to (it was mentioned in season 1 that he went to Nini for advice). I am curious as to where things will take us. Part of me wants to really see them go their separate ways, but you can also tell neither wanted it to end, so there is that chance of being together again. This time I think is to really let them grow. It's letting Nini try new things, and letting Ricky get adjusted to change. I think his fear of change is what made him do stupid things like deleting that message. He knew it wasn't ok and did freak out right after. He knows, but he needs to fully understand. As for Gina! You can tell she does like EJ back. Why else would she wear his Duke hoodie? When Jack (the airport guy) asked if it was her boyfriends, when she said she isn't sure I think she herself doesn't know for sure if EJ likes her as a friend or more. The way she looks at EJ as he walks away with her bags she is realizing. The funny thing is, I think it was Jack who made her realize. Also like Regina Vaughan said, him saying she looked familiar is more for the fans who watched Andi Mack, so it was just meant to be a funny line.

I love they added Jack in to help Gina. She seemed confused about what she felt for EJ but him showing up to pick her up, just to bring her back the next day means so much to her. The was she watched him walk away with her bags was almost like a realization for her.

Loved these episodes! I’m really liking the EJ and Gina development, and the Rini breakup and song that resulted were so emotional 💔

Destiny Samuel

Fun fact, the lady who played Kourtney’s mom in episode 8, is her ACTUAL mom! Such a cool moment for the actors

Tbh I feel that people place too much of the blame for the breakup on Ricky. Nini messed up a lot too. She wouldn’t be honest to Ricky(said the rose song wasn’t a big deal and wasn’t about Ricky when we all know that was a lie, didn’t tell him why she left YAC, etc.) It’s no wonder why Ricky thinks Nini is changing because she doesn’t know how to communicate.
