i'm so happy you enjoyed this! it's definitely not one of my favorite lana's so far but i hope it grows because her other records are phenomenal. and because you loved this and everything jack antonoff has produced for taylor as well, i highly highly recommend melodrama by lorde.. she worked very closely with him to make that album like she literally lived with him while they made it.. i don't know if anyone on the channel has asked you to react to it or if you've already heard it but i'm sure many people on here would enjoy it, it's just a crazy experience of a pop album and ranks right up there with taylor and lana's best for me (if not higher)

forgot to add that jack also produced lana's last album, norman f*cking rockwell! and it's unreal

Surreal! Lana is here, I just finished the album, and I can't wait to relisten with you. This is such a strong piece (not my fave though it's sure to grow) BUT her last album Norman Fucking Rockwell is FLAWLESS. She works on that one and this one with Jack Antonoff who also worked with Taylor, Lorde (on the immaculate Melodrama), and has a relatively decent side project the Bleachers. If you keep with Lana, you're in for a ride. She's another genre shapeshifter with a sharp pen. A top 10 artist for me for sure.

OMG I almost forgot, she wrote the BEST poetry book. The audiobook is read by her with Jack's accompanying music... I play it on long roadtrips on loop just to get lost <3 finishing up the reaction and really really loving this album more and more. I also noted two Princess Di references with Candle in the Wind being referenced early on before Yosemite and in Wild Heart she said, "the camera flashes caused the car crashes." just noteworthy I thought

The "feature" on Breaking Up Slowly is Nikki Lane. A country artist I don't know. Tammy Wynette is a very famous (in the country scene) singer who had a very very sad life which was often reflected in her lamenting, mournful lyrics. I do love some of her work, but it's super vintage country. She passed in the 90s. I wonder if George refers to another country legend George Jones who was one of Tammy's husbands in a very public relationship of ups and downs (they had killer duets too). Also For Free is a cover. Even her cover choices (from Sublime to Nina Simone) are specific, well altered to fit the theme and sound of an album while paying respect to the original, and they NEVER miss. The Other Woman is...ughhh...when you get to Ultraviolence the deluxe is MANDATORY.

Loved it! Excited to listen to this album more, Lana albums always get better with more listens and she just puts me in a trance with her music . My favorites from Lana are her debut Born to Die (iconic that whole album) and the one before this one Norman Fuckin Rockwell which she worked on with Jack Antonoff as many have said and it’s a masterpiece!

I have to say I never really was a big fan of Lana’s music (it just wasn’t my style, but I can appreciate her talent), but this album was very well done. I can’t say it’s the best since I haven’t heard her other albums fully, but this definitely makes me want to listen. I love the lyricism, the vocal execution, and the overall sound of this album. This may have to be my first Lana vinyl.

This was such a nice surprise. I loved listening to the album with you. Lana is one of my top 5 favorites of all time. Her music and voice are so unique, and she has such an amazing way with words. I definitely hope you continue on with her other albums because they are all such works of art. Each one has its own personality and sound while also still feeling very authentically Lana.
