I can't find the reaction to the deluxe tracks, did i miss them?

Paige

I’m not crying you’re crying 😭 (we’re both crying) Exactly how All Too Well should be received for the first time. What a gift you gave us here, the vulnerability you show puts us right there with you. Holy crap I can’t wait to watch you hear the ten minute version 🤯

April Green

🎶 I once believed love would be burning reeeed but it's golden, like daylight 🎶

Christi

This is the video from YouTube that brought me to subscribe to your Patreon! Your reaction is everything!! Love it ❤️

Cynthia Stone

Patrizia

2 hours and a half?? Omg i'm so here for it!!! Best way to spend my Monday honestly!! Thank you Michael!!!♥️

viola

i’m so excited to watch this tonight can’t wait! thank you

Tal

Yes! Red is her first real crossover album. Taylor even said in 2015 (when 1989 was nominated for album of the years and won) that Red was agreed that the lyrics are strong but the album is all over the place. and to that Taylor said "which it was" I really recommend now reacting to Taylor's sit down at the Grammy museum back in 2015 where she talks about how each album came about (at that time her latest album was 1989 so she talks lengthy about that album) and it's awesome because she plays voice memos that didn't make the album and such. if you're interested it's all in youtube (in 3 parts). part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VenlV7Qxak part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OBcMlJiWJc&t= part 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0GqbA7hLCM&t=

Jillian Stamatelos

Omg . I can’t wait to see your All Too Well reaction !

Olivia Carney

I think my new favorite hobby is watching people listen to All Too Well for the first time. It has become an absolute fan favorite - was always an incredible song but after some live performances over the years, it is extremely extremely huge for Taylor fans - the most track 5 of all track 5s

Anonymous

Omg!! Do not worry about praising All too well.... I have literally been scared for your reaction to Red in case something didn’t click for you.... everyone loves this album... even people that don’t have it as their favourite agree it’s one of her best (and all the critics said it was her best until folklore). All too well is considered the holy grail for her songwriting... I think everyone ranks it in at least their top 10 Taylor songs if not no1 everytime!!

Anonymous

Your reaction to all too well is everything I could have wanted. You made me feel like I heard this song for the first time again. I’m literally sobbing right now. This song is definitely like every swifties #1 favorite Taylor songs of all time. Her storytelling is incredible. I don’t think you are ready for Dear John on speak now. I would say that song is on the same level as all too well. She’s just amazing.

Grace

i took notes so i would remember everything i wanted to comment so here you go! take a minute when you have a chance to listen to daylight to hear the growth... "i once believed love was burning red, but it's golden" really hits different once you hear this album all too well is pretty widely understood as her best songwriting and is definitely THE track five stay stay stay had to walk so paper rings could run lol remember in long pond when she was talking about the lakes and said she's been writing about "getting out" since she was about 20? yeah, she was talking about the lucky one this whole album talks about the ups and downs of her relationship with jake gyllenhal but only hints at what actually caused them to break up.... until we find out in the bonus track the moment i knew red was nominated for album of the year but it didn't win because it wasn't "sonically cohesive" which is crazy because the story in this album is so so cohesive

Anonymous

Love feeling like I’m experiencing a masterpiece like this album for the first time through someone else’s eyes. Even though I agree I would never rank TS albums , Red along with Folklore+Evermore are my all time faves . And all too well is a religious experience 💜

Wanda Smith

Does anyone else have different answers for what their favorite Taylor album is and what her best is? I don't think this is her best album, but it's my favorite.

Anonymous

All Too Well is not only fan favourite song, but Taylor also said in 2019 that it is one of her favourites too. She also gave an interview to Rolling Stones in October 2020, where she talked about Red. It was named one of the greatest albums of all time, ranked at #99. She confirmed that original version of All Too Well lasted for about 10 minutes and that she actually came up with the idea for the song while on rehearsals for her Speak Now Tour. She was playing some instruments, after a while her band joined her because they saw she was extremely sad that day and they basically came up with the instruments of the song. If you want to check out the full interview, here you go: https://youtu.be/aeqd-IeuE0g

Gwen

If you go back and listen to Daylight off of Lover she has a callback where she says, "I once believed love would be burning red but it's golden" and if you read the prologue for RED she says "Real love shines golden like starlight, and doesn’t fade or spontaneously combust. Maybe I’ll write a whole album about that kind of love if I ever find it" Fast forward 7 years and we have Lover.

Anonymous

You should also check out this live version of Holy Ground, it's better than the original and that's saying a lot because I love the original: https://youtube.com/watch?v=gpT6Ua3FIp8

No one is gonna come for you! All too well is almost every swifties favorite. I’ve been waiting weeks to see your reaction to it.

Anonymous

And now you can see how All to well is basically the anthem of the swifties fandom ;)

Steph

All Too Well is THE track 5 of all track 5’s. If you don’t scream to every lyric of this song, are you even a swiftie? You need to watch her perform this song at the Grammy’s - so heartbreakingly beautiful.

Jayde Ritchey

The Lucky One always makes me think of Britney Spears, her song Lucky, and how much trouble she had with the media in the mid 2000s. She's kind of like the pop star horror story, even though she didn't do anything wrong. I think this is in my top 3 Taylor albums. My ranking is probably folklore, RED, evermore, 1989, Lover, Reputation, and then the rest kind of hanging out together lol I wasn't sure I was going to be able to sit through a 2h30min video, at least in one sitting, but it didn't feel that long! Don't be afraid to do longer videos when you do album reactions for other artists, too! Thanks for the upload, Michael.

Cynthia Stone

I second this!! I adore holy ground and loved it even more in this BBC Live Lounge performance

Samantha

All Too Well is a fan favorite. At the end of the decade SO MANY articles rated it as the best song of the decade and RED as one of the best albums of the decade.

Jared Scoggin

Honestly I had some thoughts but I forgot them all by the end. I ended up just enjoying the album again along with you. I will say All Too Well is easily one of the top 5 best songs Taylor has. And quite possibly the best written of all of them. And I love that you can see hints of her Folklore future with songs like The Lucky One and Starlight, telling the stories of other people. When I first heard Folklore and The Last Great American Dynasty I was immediately reminded of The Lucky One and how she relates her life and experience to someone from another generation.

Andreja

Red is not my favorite album because even though it has a lot of my all time favorite songs, I think it also has a few fillers. But it is the album that made me a Swiftie. I liked her music since Fearless but when I heard and fell in love with Begin Again (it was the second single of Red), I listened to the whole album, cried my eyes out to All Too Well and that was it. ATW is still my favorite song. I was a little afraid how you're gonna like it so I'm happy you agree with all of us :D That storytelling is just on another level. This album is classified as country but it's also pop. It was her crossover album really and it was very important for her career. Taylor said it herself last year that without it there would be no 1989. She said it in an interview with Rolling Stone about Red being named one of the best albums of all times (I recommend listening). State of Grace really has more of a stadium rock vibes and I'm glad you made a commparison with Kings of Leon because they're probably my favorite modern rock band. I'm hoping since forever for her to make an album in that style. I'm a little surprised you didn't caught up with the song Red and Daylight connection :D All Too Well isn't about Harry, she wrote it before him. If you want to know who it's about you can Google it (I don't want to spoil it). There's a rumor it was 10 minutes long at first! So we're hoping for this longer version to be included as a bonus song on Red re-recorded! You need to watch the BBC Radio 1 version of Holy Ground, it's something else! It's on YouTube. There are also two songs that she wrote for this album but didn't end up putting them on. She gave them to other band. The first one is Better Man by Little Big Town which is one of the best songs she's written in my opinion. The other is Babe by Sugarland which also features Taylor on a song and in the music video. I also recommend you as a fan of Tim McGraw to listen to his song Highway Don't Care which features Taylor and was released during her Red era. Sorry for my comment being so long. But long video requires long comments :D

sai

soo have you figured out the connection with Daylight and Red yet?

Anonymous

have much to say but the core is that i absolutely loved your reaction to All Too Well. as others have said, its considered her best song(writing) and I'm still amazed the same way when i hear it so it feels very validating to see your same reaction, haha. also as others have said, critics have long praised All Too Well! at the end of the 10's it made the top of many 'best song of the decade' charts :)

Sonja Vesala

My favourite live performances of All Too Well are Grammys and quite recent Tiny Desk concert <3 and yes it is absolutely one of her best songs and about Jake Gyllenhaal.

Liam Mcfarlane

🎶 ‘cause loving him was Red, yeah Red, burning Reeeeeeeed 🎶 🎶 I once believed love would be burning reeeeeeeeed but it’s golden, like Daylight... 🎶

viola

i loved your reaction!! and yes all too well is definitely THE track 5! red is such a great album, i can’t rank her albums but red really holds a special place! btw can’t wait for the deluxe tracks (especially the moment i knew)

Anonymous

I love this album so much. This is really at the top of my list out if all Taylor’s albums. The part that's hard to understand is that Taylir didn't win album of the year on this one. Both the R albums, Red and Reputation, are my favorites.

Brianna

When Red was nominated for album of the year she gave a really emotional performance of All Too Well at the Grammys. It's great. The Lucky One has always been my favorite. She basically spells out how she wants to leave the industry... and even more so with The Lakes. I think that's why so many people believed "It's Time To Go" off Evermore was going to be about her leaving the industry. Also, I know people have already mentioned it, but the connection of this album to Lover is truly something special. How she said if she ever finds love that's golden she will write an album about it.. and she did. The "burning red" reference the first time I heard it in Daylight gave me chills.

Brianna

I know you didn't ask for it, but this album was written about one person. It's very well known who it's all about.

Teddy

Begin again is her best album closer and All Too Well is just gutting. You should check out her Grammy performance of All Too Well

Paige Peasley

So I think "The Lucky One" could be about a few people but I think it's about Shania Twain. It is known she looked up to her in the music industry. She even got to do a skit as a Thelma and Louise type before an award show. Shania, was HUGE, and after her husband cheated on her she disappeared from the face of the Earth and from the spotlight. Shania also bought a bunch of land in New Zealand I believe it was (Swiss alps).

“I once believed love would be burning red, but it’s golden, like daylight... You gotta step into the daylight, and let it go.”

Starr Jauregui

I am SO glad that All Too Well moved you that much. I knew that it would, but to the degree that it did, THANK YOU! The way you spoke about it is exactly how I feel every time that I listen to it.

Starr Jauregui

ALSO, the only other songs that move me the same way that All Too Well does are Back To December, Dear John, Last Kiss, and Haunted, and all of those are on Speak Now so... get ready for that!!

Anonymous

This is when she did venture into pop.

Elisha Li

I think many/most swifties would agree that all too well is Taylor’s best written song ever. I still remember the first time I heard the song, wearing headphones in a high school gym, and I listened on repeat the rest of the day

Gabriela B

Omg, I love this reaction so much!!! RED was always my top 1 album of hers, sometimes tied with Speak Now, but then Folklore came and I can't for the life of me rank her albums anymore hahaha. And about All Too Well, it is a fan favorite and yesssss I think it is Taylor's best written song, the way she makes us picture in our heads every lyric in the song... Ugh, a masterpiece. ❤️

Anonymous

For me, Red is top 3. Her album rankings for me vary based on mood, but folklore and Red are probably my two favorites in general. All too well is consensus one of her best songs and the original song is 10-20 minutes (I’ve seen anywhere in that range) but she cut it down. We’re hoping the full version comes with the re-recording

Hunter Kuehn

Red is an indescribable journey...and All Too Well is def her Magnum Opus (Ronan is another very very sad story)... As a whole it's in the top 5 for me as an album. but her pen was ablaze for this project... Half through the reaction and LOVING the long runtime. Let's jam on Swifties <3

Xene

I’m so happy you finally got wrecked by All Too Well. LOL. And so glad you actually reacted to the album/studio version before the Rep tour! I dont think you’d be able to process and dissect it as much as you do if you were to hear it first in the rep tour. I’m really hoping we get the 10minute version of All Too Well in her Taylor’s Version release!

Nahren Neno

Every time I get asked what my favourite Taylor Swift album is, I always say it’s impossible. But really, it’s Red. I know it’s Red. It’s such a good album, it does a really good job at exploring heartbreak but also, hope. It’s can be so hopefully at times. A lot of people like to say it’s not “sonically cohesive”, that the track list is all over the place but I don’t see that. I haven’t listened to this album in a while and this has made me want to go back and listen to it. Also, in the song Daylight on Lover she sings “I once believed love would be burning red, but it’s golden”. In the booklet for this album, she writes in her prologue she writes “real love shines golden”. So, it’s crazy to see where she was when writing red and where she is now.

The lucky one is a song that she wrote based on the false reality of being famous and she based it on a female artist that she looked up to when she was younger. She never revealed who it was written about because she wanted to keep it to herself. But the first verse is based sround how as a young girl this female artist wanted to be famous so she gives herself a makeover to fit into that checklist to fame. The first chorus goes into how when this artist first became famous everyone was telling her she was lucky that she made it. The second verse starts to bring up the downside to fame and basically how the paps and media twist everything and make a news story about everything little thing which people end up believing even if it's far from the truth. The lyrics "And your lover in the foyer doesn't even know you And your secrets end up splashed on the news front page" refers to how as a famous person regardless of whether it's your first time meeting somebody they already know "everything" about you because of what the media publishes and how essentially it creates a bad reputation for you which it did for Taylor. She also refers to how as a female artist you have to constantly worry about younger and newer female artists taking your spotlight because as she mentioned in miss Americana most older female artist are usually forgotten by the time they are 430-35ish because they aren't young and fresh to the media and public anymore. She also refers to how you are constantly showered with compliments and love BUT only because everyone just wants to use you for their own advantage. The line "Another name goes up in lights You wonder if you'll make it out alive" refers to being worried about being replaced because someone else now has a spotlight just as big as yours. The second chorus although the same lyrics each chorus refers and has different meanings to it WHICH IS AWESOME because it's literally the exact same lyrics just different context. The second chorus refers to how everyone is telling the female artist that she should feel lucky that she is still relevant and well known despite the newer and younger artists on the scene now taking over and how regardless of how stressful and shitty fame is they should be grateful they even had any of it to begin with. The bridge/ third verse is when Taylor comes into the scene at the start of her career and she is constantly being told about the female artist that just literally disappeared from the spotlight because they realised all the scrutiny, stress and lack of a normal life wasn't worth it anymore. And how this artist literally took all that she had left (her money and whatever else was left of her dignity) and chose to be out of the public light to be normal again/ How she chose "the rose garden over Madison square", chose sanity over her career. The line "And it took some time, but I understand it now 'Cause now my name is up in lights But I think you got it right, " refers to how at the beginning of her career she didn't really understand the decisions this female artist made but as her career went on and she went through similar things (everything refer to in Miss Americana and even more on top of that) she now understood why this artist did what she did. The last chorus Taylor essentially is saying that this female artist is lucky that she got out of the public eye when she could because now Taylor has to deal with all the same shit, Funnily enough it wasn't entirely about her yet who knew a few years later Taylor would end up going through the same thing and she does exactly what this female artist did.

Tiffany

While we’re waiting on more reputation and the Red bonus tracks: 1) MOST of these songs are about her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal including all too well and the bonus track the moment I knew. 2) bonus track The Moment I Knew tears my heart out 3) All Too Well is almost consistently voted her best by her fans and will be on the reputation tour. 4) lyric genius Starlight. It’s so interesting. It’s about the Kennedy family Matriarch that she got close to when dating a Kennedy one summer. Hence the reference to the summer of 1945. It’s HER love story. Can’t wait for more Taylor content!!!

McKenzie Monroe

My birthday is tomorrow and when you said that everybody knows her song 22 it made me feel so old, it’s seems like so long ago when I sang that song on my birthday. 🤣

Anonymous

No joke I was smiling for the entirety of this video.

Ariana Moskwa

OMG i missed this yesterday. Made my whole dayyyyy seeing this!

Virginia

Literally one of my favorite lyrics is the one from daylight where she recalls this album/song. Her mind always amazes me.

Virginia

YESSS!!! Love your reaction to this album and I have been (im)patiently waiting for you to get to All Too Well. It is literally one of the best songs ever, it doesn’t get old, and it honestly the best to scream at the top of your lungs in the car. So ready for your continuation of the Rep Tour (honestly I wish I could relive it so bad).

Katie Polich

all too well is the majority's favorite song and usually agreed upon that it's her best-written song. this song was incredibly hard for her to write. she wrote in during speak now rehearsals and basically went on stage and just kept singing, coming up with a bunch of the lines as she sang. the original is over ten minutes long––many people think (and hope) that the original version will be on the re-recording. she performed this song at the grammys. she could barely get through it, but she did it because the fans wanted her to. she was never able to play the song again without breaking down, but during reputation, she was able to play it again because the fans changed the meaning of it for her. she thinks of the fans love for the song rather than the heartbreak that came along with it.

fivebyfive

Don't worry no one is going to come for you. All too well is the swifty anthem. Its her best song and thats saying something. Now if you want to really feel this song and the history watch it live on the grammys, during her red tour (if you can find a good copy, then watch her sing it closest to this year as you can get. So much history swifties and all too well have.

Anonymous

I thought the general consensus was that a few were about older relationships like Holy Ground (JJ), IKYWT & Treacherous (JM) being former, then EHC & Begin Again being about whichever relationship came after the major one the other songs are about ended? I could be totally wrong here but technically the public will never truly know except for the ones she gave huge lyrical or secret liner note hints to (maple latte lol) and of course Starlight & The Lucky One being about people unrelated to her life and Stay Stay Stay being fictional Otherwise yeah this is SUCH a beautiful cohesive album that explores every faucet of the stages of an on-and-off relationship and heartbreak, forever one of my faves

Anonymous

I LOVE watching people hear All Too Well for the very first time - "You call me up again just to break me like a promise/So casually cruel in the name of being honest" & "Time won't fly it's like I'm paralysed by it" are some of my favourite lyrics of hers ever Taylor has said she regards RED as her last "true breakup album", it is lyrically such a cohesive exploration of the ups and downs of an on and off relationship and the stages of heartbreak/moving on, Begin Again was the perfect album closer for such a thing! My personal favourite song of hers ever (A track 5 perfect enough to rival All Too Well) is Dear John - very excited for you to listen to Speak Now and experience it. To think that she wrote it ALL by herself at the age of 19 is INSANE; still some of her best lyrics to date. Perfectly encapsulates a toxic relationship and what it's like to be gaslit by a controlling person. Heart breaking masterpiece Thank you always for your reactions, I feel like I'm experiencing these albums all over again for the very first time along with you <3

life of nicole

Second needing the reaction to the Grammy's performance of All Too Well - it is a must!!

Stephanie Orman

After you hear the bonus tracks to Red, you might want to check out the other songs she wrote during this era: Safe and Sound (feat. The Civil Wars), Eyes Open, and Babe (which she wrote in 2012, but gave to Sugarland in 2018). Thank you so much for all of the Taylor content; loving your reactions. ♥️

Jillian Stamatelos

While we are on the subject of All Too Well, you should watch the Tiny Desk Concert after you watch the Grammy performance . She sings it on there and it’s a different vibe . Some of my fave Lover songs too !

Anonymous

Did you say "With love is sadness and tragedy." ? Who did you so wrong?????

Molly C

all too well is a fan favorite for sure, more than any other track it's known as her best

Just joined your patreon! My 1st one. Love your reactions. Your reaction to All To Well is EVERYTHING!! She is a lyrical genius!

Karel Painchaud

OMG! I'm just LMAO right now. Ive just watch you listening "All too well" for the first time. Just before the song start I told myself "that guy is not ready... he's stepping into it so lightely. Did no one warned him?!?!" 😂 I love your Taylor Swift's reaction BTW.

Chanse

Theres a song from red thats a bonus you forgot to react to, its called the moment I knew. Its like the second sadist song other than all to well becasue its a true story.

Monica Torres

Since you’re such a Harry fan has anyone told you about the links between the music videos of I knew you were trouble and Out of the woods? Both are about him and in I knew you were trouble in a monologue she says “the worst part of it all wasn’t losing him, it was losing herself.” And at the very end of the out of the woods video (she has a literal HS painted on her arm in this one) she says “she lost him, but she found herself, and somehow that was everything.” Also if you want to know more about the story of all too well it was about her relationship with Jake gyllenhal and what taylor called the prequel to all too well is a song called babe. She wrote it for red but it didn’t make the final cut, and in 2018 she decided to sell it to country duo Sugarland. They asked her to feature on the song and she’s also in the music video.

Anonymous

Just joined and am burning through your videos. You probably don't go back to old video comments but putting it out here that we are getting 10 minute All Too Well, Everything Has Changed TV, and Lucky One TV. Red is my favorite album and 30 tracks is almost not enough for me.

Ashley Summerfield

I just realized that you would ADORE Selena Gomez's albums Revival and Rare (maybe skip Stars Dance until the end since she wasn't in control of that album). She is a good friend of Taylors and has been for a long time. Her voice is soft and powerful at the same time. She also released a Spanish album which is phenomenal. She is like if you mixed Taylor Swift and Camilla Cabello as a very rough estimate of what you can expect. Sweet.....and spicy.....

Just Susie

You can't hear me, but I am totally answering your questions as we go along.

steven stewart

And can we just talked about the Perfection of the way she orders her songs I mean think about it you had I almost do or she's talking about almost getting back together with this guy and then she follows that up with We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

I Knew You Were Trouble was my first love and I will always stand by her

I just found out about your channel on youtube today and subscribed to patreon after one video. I love how you take the time to dissect the lyrics and figure out the story of the song. I also really appreciate how you take the time to stop and say how beautiful a song is (like Begin Again)

Hunter Kuehn

Rewatch time, Michael I'm really struggling with my mental health. Thank you and Taylor for grounding me and keeping me going. Love your content brother!

Bangtan is life

Can’t wait till I get to see you react to the 10 min. version of All Too Well!! I saw you did it so I’m looking forward to it! This song is a fan favorite for a reason, and the 10 min version is arguably the best song ever made in my opinion!!

Carly Hartle

You need to listen to her and Tim's collab! Highway Don't Care! :)

Question! When Will you watch the Red Tour!?!?
