Yay! It’s been a rough morning! This will definitely make it better!

gabrie

been gnawing at my cage waiting for this one! 😂 but no rush king thank you for your time!!

Fabiana Domingues

I have a lot of work to do now, but no matter, part 2 is here!! 😍😍

Portia Crain

Yay!!! So apparently today in school (I home school) were gonna talk about taylor swift lol

Simon Falk

I still prefer the first half by quite a bit, but very curious what you have to say

Amanda M.

I clicked so fast! I realllllly love this double

lea

LETS GOOOOOO!! watching this tn

Shania Albornoz

With The Black Dog, when I heard the “six weeks of breathing clean air I still miss the smoke” I immediately the thought of Daylight when she said “clearing the air I breathed in the smoke”.

Fabiana Domingues

Michael you are kind and really smart and your reactions are incredible! Don't forget that ❤️

McKenna DeFranco

“and you saw my bones out with somebody new who seemed like he would’ve bullied you in school” - travis is the somebody new who, as a jock, would’ve stereotypically bullied mr. tortured poet indie boy in school lol

Marissa Franco

Taylor hits you right in the heart. I feel like I don’t listen closely enough until I discuss the lyrics with someone else, which I don’t have many people who are as big of fans as I am. So thank you for being that person. I love these reactions.

Jenny D

You're one of my favorite music reactors! Definitely not an imposter 💛 I totally get the anxiety. I've been wanting to get into reacting too, but it definitely is nerve racking. I've watched all your GOT, HOD, and Hillhouse reactions, and now watch your Taylor content, One Tree Hill, and random movies. Over 2,000 of us wouldn't be paying for your content if you weren't doing a kick ass job 😊🤗

Ashley O

That beginning thank you was so sweet! I found you like 2 days after you posted your first little mix sweet melody video and loved you so much! You’re my favorite reactor and love watching your Taylor stuff! You’re great at this and I always get so happy when I see one of your notifications!

LanaJulie33

Yayyyy I've been so excited for part 2!!

Jana Fuller

So funny you said So High School could have been on one tree hill! I was watching Ally Sheehan’s video this morning and she said So high school is such a Nathan and Haley song. Especially the you know how to ball I know Aristotle line 😆😆 Also other random Taylor Swift OTH connection lol did you know Chris Keller is Drew from the teardrops on my guitar music video 😂😆

Kerry

Can’t believe the first vid of yours I watched was the folklore reaction, feels soooo long ago! I’ve been in and out of your patreon for a couple years but I’m so happy to support you, and so incredibly hyped for hotd season 2!

Bee

your top 9 are literally my top 9. especially with loml on top. elite taste, bestie 🤌🏾🤍

Lindsay

My favorite is Peter!!❤️ My all time favorite movie is Peter Pan so I was so happy when I heard this song!! Kind of thought of it from Wendy’s perspective but it could be anything. Glad you love it as well!

Sara Hunt

The prophecy is my favourite song taylor has ever written, I don’t know why the lyrics hit me as hard as they did. I have never cried so much listening to a song the way I did my first listen to that song. Miss swift you did it again.

Lucille

I’m nodding my head so damn hard during some of your comments halfway through

Nicole Strianese

Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus has the same piano scale playing in the background as the end of Champagne Problems! Peter is a play on Peter Pan Robin is Aaron Dressner’s sons name and he’s credited as a writer on the song too

Jaime

Me with every new song in the Anthology “this is gonna be my favorite”

Khepre(kaprey)

I think Cassandra is a tie into about the scooter Braun and the masters situation and how now other artists are dealing with the Braun reckoning

Kayla Field

Been waiting for this!!! For "I Hate It Here", the line about the 1830's is her just making fun of nostalgia. She doesn't actually want to go to the 1830's, she was just making a point of how terrible it is no matter what year you go to and that nostalgia is a "mind's trick". Also the lunar valleys line is just her imagining another planet where the cruel and evil die, it's an escape from real life where only "the gentle survived". Love the reaction and how you dissect the lyrics, you've definitely helped me understand some lines better.

Amanda M.

Robin was written by Taylor and Aaron and is rumored to be inspired his child.

Allison V

“she’s asking for the manager” 😂💀 the prophecy is my fav song too!

Jenny D

OK, so now that I watched the rest lol The Prophecy is one of my favorites as well. So relatable. In regards to your questions about the meaning of Peter, I think it's definitely about Matty. She mentions his inability to grow up, and in the bridge she says he was lost to the "lost boys chapter of his life". He's still a boy. Then she says, "But the woman sits by the window". I think she's contrasting that he's a boy, but she's a woman now, no longer a little girl, so she has to "turn out the light" and move on. Also, when they were together, he attended one of her shows, and before she sang Cardigan she mouthed the words, "This is about you. You know who you are. I love you." So I think your comment about Peter being tied to Cardigan is right. With Robin, Aaron Dessner's son's name is Robin, so people think it's about him 💛

Janet Michelle

In "So High School"....google the sign for "scouts honor" lol. She is talking dirty in this one!

Lucille

Can’t emphasize enough how much your fantano rant meant to me

Ab

thank you for sharing - wonderful reaction.

Brittany Rose

YESSS I was waiting for this and it did not disappoint!

TiffK83

Thank you! I enjoy your reactions very much! Keep it up! 🫶

deya R19

wooooo <3

eden

I agree! "Blood's thick but nothing like a payroll" reminds me of how a record label will say everyone in it is a family but none of the other artists or behind the scenes people backed her up throughout the entire situation and then continued to say nothing publicly they just quiety left the label.

eve🐱🏀

can’t wait to get off work and watch this, been waiting for ur reaction on some songs!!

Anusha G

In the Black Dog I wondered if missing the smoke, referred to London, as a nickname is the Big Smoke.

Viviana Trujillo

This made my day! You're love and appreciation for Taylor and her art is so fun to watch! I don't like to always assign muses for Taylor's songs but to me most of this album is about Joe, but I can see how people interpret it otherwise. Peter is such a beautiful song but so heartbreaking. Someone said to imagine that song being sung to you by your younger self, but now the current version of you also needs saving and it destroyed me! Also thank you for describing how Swifties are. I know we get a bad rep online, but what you said is true. True Swifties are kind and make experiencing a new Taylor project so much fun, and we are so lucky to have you, because as I said you really understand the music and even give us interpretations that maybe we didn't think of before. Can't wait to see what other projects she releases and to share them with you!

eden

I can't decide who I think Peter is about but either way it's so heartbreaking. The way she delivers the chorus lyrics is devastating especially as a person who has always been obsessed with Peter Pan (and has recently experienced the feelings written about here) this song ruined me lmaoooo

CGoerlich

Absolutely loved watching/listening to your reaction! I just love the way you interpret and dissect the lyrics. And I LOVE "So High School." I'm happy she's happy with Travis. And I'm surprised no one has mentioned this, but the lyrics "Are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me—It's just a game, but really" are about an old interview that Travis did years ago where Taylor was one of the options for the "marry, kiss or, kill" game. The interviewer reacted to the lyrics on IG and it's so cute & funny. And I love you mentioning OTH. Can't wait for your next reaction to whatever it may be (OTH maybe?)!!! Keep up the awesome work you do.

Jackie

Still making my way through your reaction, but I LOVE how much you love the Prophecy, because that one hit me really hard the first time I heard it, too. Also, the way you loved Chloe, or Sam, Or Sophia Or Marcus is making me appreciate it more as well, and I love it when that happens (which is often when I'm watching your reactions 💜). Can't wait to watch the rest of this when I get home tonight! Thanks as always for taking the time to share such thoughtful reactions with us!

Bangtan is life

As someone who daydreams a lot I can really relate to “I Hate It Here”, it’s almost written for me and it’s not often I feel that honestly

cara

this is gonna be a long comment, so i apologize in advance, but i just have too much love for this album and your reaction to condense into a sentence. i really adore this album and i’m so happy to see you giving it the thoughtful reaction you always do. you had it spot on at the beginning when you said that taylor puts *everything* into her songs, and there's always so much to take away. whether a taylor song is a favorite or not, it'll always be so complex and clever and interesting, and i feel like you always keep that in mind and give every song the consideration it deserves even if it isn’t one you instantly love. your visceral "WHAT??" reaction to "i loved you the way that you were" in chloe or sam or sophia or marcus was so good! i loved that you clearly recognized exactly how hurtful that would be, not just for anyone but also for taylor specifically (writer of mirrorball, this is me trying, etc) given that she has clearly always tried to be the best version of herself possible. it would be such a twisted knife to hear someone you love tell you they miss who you were 10 years ago when you've left that version of yourself behind deliberately in favor of growth. (that idea comes back in 'peter,' which is about 'the rebound' guy - she grew up but he never did, and it created a gulf between them). it's a total gut punch! i also love the way you don't use names, just "ex" and "rebound" and labels like that. there's a lot of valid criticism towards the idea of "paternity testing" songs by focusing so much on which man they're about when really, at their core, they're all about taylor and HER journey. i think describing them by their relationship to her rather than by their name helps keep the focus on taylor and what SHE felt instead of specifically about the man. just a small thing, but i appreciate it and i think it really shows how much you respect her as an artist :) the prophecy is one of my absolute favorites too! i LOVE the line "i got cursed like eve got bitten" because it's just so layered and clever: eve DIDNT get bitten, she was tricked into doing the biting, and ended up cast from eden because of it. so taylor is saying she didn’t GET cursed by the prophecy, she was tricked into cursing herself by wasting her youth and love (her version of paradise) on someone who didn’t want forever and ending up, metaphorically, kicked out of heaven as a result. same thing with the pricked hand mention later in the song, referencing sleeping beauty -- it's a curse, yes, but she's saying she's the one who reached out for it. i think it adds so much to understanding her pain to know that she feels as though she's both the victim AND the cause of her own loneliness. "i sealed my fate" and everything. i obviously didnt articulate this half as well as taylor did, but it's just so perfect. her writing on this album is seriously next level, and i love your genuine appreciation for it. i’m sorry again for how long this was, but thank you again for your reaction. hearing your thoughts is always such a treat :)

Ellis Hale

re: Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus - I think you are on the right track about the hologram being digital in nature. The rebound is known for kissing people at concerts in between relationships and he is not particular about gender. NOW BACK TO CONTINUE THIS INCREDIBLE VIDEO.

Zac

I love you, and I love seeing your love for Taylor grow with each video you put out about her music. It is amazing to me how she can break our heart and heal it at the same time with her words :)

Bangtan is life

Just gonna make a comment on my own comment lol You were popping off with what you said in the middle of The Manuscript 👏🏼👏🏼 Also TTPD is up there as one of my favorite albums from her🙌🏼

Beatriz Cardozo

I knew that The Prophecy would get you like it got me! It's my fav, we have very similar tastes for music, Bev! hahah. About Cassandra, in this point of view Taylor is Cassandra, when she tried to say Kim had edited the call nobody believed her so they started all the hate on her with the snakes and everything, then when the truth came out that she was right all the time: it was QUIET.

Jillian Stamatelos

Not Taylor stalking [redacted] on find my iPhone lol 📱

Jillian Stamatelos

I was surprised when I heard imgonnagetyouback bc Olivia just put out Get Him Back! with the same meaning 🤔 it almost seems intentional by Taylor here

Amy

And she warned everyone before they were sold out from under her!!

Beatriz Cardozo

I love how deep you dive in the lyrics like I do and I think this is the most important thing about Taylor's artwork, thank you Bev! We swifts love you!!

Jillian Stamatelos

Somewhere in thanK you aIMee she should have said “you made this bitch famous” lol ☠️

Lindsay

My interpretation of "I hate it here" is that it was reflecting on the time she spent in isolation during the pandemic with her long-term ex. She mentioned in her TIME interview that she locked herself away for 6 years (presumably due to his desire for privacy) and how she'll never get that time back. She escaped the neglect she felt in her relationship and missing her fans and being isolated by writing folklore and evermore (which have that secret garden/forest vibe) and the fantasy world of all the stories and characters she created for those.

Lindsay

Also you totally hit the nail on the head on why people love Taylor. She just has this way of making you FEEL that is indescribable and it does stick with you forever.

Jackie

loved every single moment of this! (also, love that the Prophecy and Peter both hit you so hard on first listen, because big same. the other heavy hitters initially for me were Albatross, the black dog, and How did it end. How Did it End still wrecks me). I really really liked the first 16 tracks, and it has grown on me more with more listens, but the anthology section is truly my shit through and through. I just love what her and Aaron do together. So much.

Lindsay

Re: Cassandra you basically got it right! It is a metaphor for K & K. The genius annotations have improved quite a bit since you probably filmed this so I would revisit them and that will explain all.

Kelsie Brake

Like I’ve said before, you’re one of the only reactors I actually get excited to watch. I’m such a geek for lyrics and you taking the time to analyze it all is so appreciated! I’m glad you felt the love on the last video - you deserve it! On another more unpleasant note - I’m glad you brought up the Anthony Fantano situation cause he was pissing me off this week. I blocked him ages ago but his rancid takes still manage to end up on my feed and I’m glad to know he annoys more than just me. 🤣

Tiffany

I honestly think The Manuscript is about everything surrounding All Too Well. She says she wished she was 30 when she was with him and after that she dated boys her own age (I THINK that’s when she dated Connor Kennedy). She made the 10 min version and the movie and she talks about actors hitting their marks, the slow dancing in it, Sadie crying in sync with the score. I think creating it was very healing for her. She’s also mentioned on the rep tour that the fans have really changed the meaning of the song for her because we love it so much and she has good memories to go along with it. When she says the story isn’t mine anymore it’s because she’s finally worked through it all with the 10min version and the film but she’s also given it to us, the fans because it’s so dear and impacts so many of us so deeply.

Paige Peasley

Hello fellow swiftie here! I love you reactions and appreciate the shout out to us! One note, the Manuscript is about all too well and her journey with that song and how that journey has ran it's course and it's ours now and she's healed and moved on. HOWEVER I think you could apply this to ALL her work before ttpd and her closing these eras especially after having to re record and re visit each one and it's just her last line saying "the story isn't mine anymore" says it's all ours is *chefs kiss* way to end this.

Sarrah Garcia

the way you said fantano (is that really his name) and got immediately riled up before you explained. go on, king 🫶🏻

Rachel Bea

She was too impaired by her youth because sometimes being a precocious child means never growing up at all 🙀. You don’t know how bad a rebound can be until you have one.

JoAnn Burrage

Actually Travis and Taylor are the exact same person as far as their personalities. The way they grew up, their parents divorcing but still have good relationships and being very supportive. Being close with their siblings. Travis has the same B-Day as Taylor’s grandmother Marjorie. It’s actually so crazy that it seems like it is fate!

JoAnn Burrage

Cassandra they believed was a witch so they burned her which references I did Something Bad, “ They’re burning all the witches even if you aren’t one they got their pitchforks and proof, their receipts and reasons which goes back to the Kanye and Kim edited call

JoAnn Burrage

Peter is referencing Peter Pan how Matty wouldn’t grow up, they were 25 when they met. Which also goes back to Cardigan when she says Tried to change the ending, Peter losing Wendy. So I believe Cardigan is also about Matty. Matty during one of his concerts sang About you and he mouthed This is about, you know who you are, I love you. The next night during Cardigan, Taylor mouthed the exact same words.

Cara M

Aahhh The Prophecy love!! It’s so hard to pick a favorite but this song is so so stunning. I have so many thoughts about it. The fact that she’d give it all back, she’d change all of it to have love. Also that she’s not just asking the powers that be to change it, she is trying to find out who to even speak to to change it. Reminds me of when we’re at our lowest or in real need of help and the act of trying to find the person who has any power to assist is a mission. Like being on the end of a call on a wait cue trying to get through to a customer service person who probably won’t even put us through to the higher power.

Cara M

Omg you just said speak to the manager! Haha, that’s exactly what I mean 😂😭

Cara M

Same. Peter Pan has been a lifelong love, singing from Wendy’s perspective is just so stunning 😭😭

Cara M

Thank you for all your care and thought in each of your reactions. I will always tune in! I also value the community you’ve created, it’s a huge reflection on the caring and insightful way you approach each project. Til next time ✨🫶🏻✨

Samantha Tingle

I value your insight to all things. I first joined you when you reacted to Hamilton and I have been a fan ever since. I am so happy to listen to someone who takes time and care to really listen and be honest. Your personality shines in these reactions!

Emma Brilleslyper

I think the 1830s line you have to look at the rest of the stanza. As a child she’d say “oh I’d pick the 1830s…but without all the racists and misogyny” and her friends would be like “you took all the fun out of this game” and then she says “and it wasn’t fun to live in the 1830s” and then says that “nostalgia is a mind’s trick”. We often convince ourselves that the grass is greener back “when things were good” but things were never good, not for everyone, not ever. That’s my interpretation of it at least!

Jared

I was so excited to see your thoughts on this half and I love that you made another three hour video. You and Chats and Reacts are the ones I have most been looking forward to delving into this with. I loved this half of the album so much. So many of my top favorites are from this half. The fact that she gave us such an amazing album in TTPD and then somehow gave us another 15 songs that are just as good if not better in some cases is unbelievable. The talent of this woman is unfathomable. Like how is she real? Also the way there are so many callbacks, both lyrically and melodically, in this album is brilliant. This to me feels like even more of a retrospective of her life than Midnights did and I'm so impressed that you picked up on the throwback sounds on the first listen. And don't worry about not picking up on what Robin was about sooner, because when i listened to that song at 3am after it dropped, I was so sleep deprived I thought she wrote it to her cats. I think I definitely misheard some lyrics in my delirious state. At least you knew it was about a person lol.

Allyson Quick

Love your reactions, as always! You catch so many things on very first listen, I'm always impressed. And I love that you take your time with it and take it in like a story. My perpective on a few: Cassandra - "patching up the crack along the wall" to me is her rerecording her masters. Her body of work got "separated" and she had to reunite it (if you follow Alef Vernon's art, this is an especially poignant concept). As she is going back these old eras, like you said she's reliving those memories. Those traumas. "I pass it and lose track of what I'm saying, cause that's where I was when I got the call". Rerecording reputation, she relived some of the trauma of getting cancelled and having friends turn on her. She gets a bit sidetracked from her current story and winds up speaking on / making art about that time period and the years since. The Bolter - on first or second listen I didn't think it was too deep and it was fairly low on my list. I was like "okay, the trope of the girl that always leaves, the serial dater, we've done that before" But...she just came out of a 6 year relationship. Some might argue she stayed TOO LONG. So my analysis of this is that she is remindering herself that she CAN leave. That she "came out alive" before. And (since she made it a bonus track and an alternate album closer, which further indicates her seeing it as significant to her overall story right now), I feel like "all her f***ing lives flashed before her eyes" (paired with the "changed plans....outfits....all to outrun my desertion of you" in Chloe et al) is sort of her saying...yeah, maybe I don't need to do that anymore. Maybe I don't have to fully reinvent myself every breakup. Every album. Which is exemplified in her nods and references to her old sounds. I was so happy you picked up on that even more than I did and spoke on it. I feel like this album made me giddy about her OLD albums again. Gave me fresh ears for Fearless, etc. Bc she was able to make these sound like old Taylor songs, but also new Taylor songs. It almost unites her body of work...her whole sound, in an ingenious way!! (Lastly, the line from You're Losing Me at end of Midnights era "Do I throw out everything we built or keep it". There's a number of things on this album and in this era that is demonstrating she knows she doesn't have to throw it all out. And she is picking and choosing what to keep) Such a self aware, mature album. So Taylor Swift. So poetic. 🤍🤍

Ashley

oh Bev how i love your reactions 🫶

Kaitlyn

Yes! This is it exactly! I have seen so many people misunderstand this line. And I was actually surprised Michael seemed to miss it as well because he usually picks up on the intricacies of lyrics. But I think a lot of people are shocked so much by the first part of the line that they completely miss the second part that clearly shows her selection of the 1830s is made sarcastically to mock the game because the people playing it are romanticizing a past that was awful so her answer forces them to acknowledge what they are ignoring.

Michael Beveraggi

I loved every word of this long comment + you made sense of the Eve bitten line for me! Thanks so much for being here & being kind, Cara ♥️

Kaitlyn

This was another great reaction. I always enjoy experiencing Taylor albums with you. Thank you for always taking so much time and care with them.

Kayla Brunton

the prophecy has me crying in my car every time it gets on because of how heartbreakingly relatable it is…sometimes you just get to a point where you sink to your knees and beg, and this song hit the nail on the head. it’s almost rude how much of this album is about me and my life like 🤨. but for real, i’m here for all the love you have for taylor and this recent project because it is honestly just such a masterpiece and what a way to wrap up 10 eras and 18 years of a career.

Vanessa Vincent

I think Chloe or Sophia and Peter are about the same 10 year gap. In the former she says she had to leave because she couldn't watch him choose drugs over her. But in Peter she mentions how she was hoping he would grow up and come back to her 😭

Aubrey

I always adore your reactions! Your videos really help me sit and digest the songs a little deeper and I can never get enough. Thank you for what you do and keep it up!!

Giorgia M

Bev!!!!!!! I don’t really have anything to say apart from I just love you so much!!! Your little bit at the start just made me want to say that. I’m more of a Filmeraggi girl than a Loveraggi, as in, I’m more here for film/TV stuff over music (despite watching the majority of your content regardless) but I just feel like watching your film/TV stuff feels more like spending time with you sometimes.. idk why? But anyway, you make such a safe space here. No one could part me from my emotional support Beveraggi THG Catching Fire commentary !!! That’s my sleep meditation!! Sorry I’m getting a little parasocial here but you are the best and I wish you a good day everyday !!!!

codenamewitch xx

awesome reaction! Just curious if you plan to react to The Eras Tour?

Teresa Salas

I agree with how the first half grows with each re-listen. It took me a few times to really understand that it’s a complete storyline of that brief painful period. I think the second half is all the extra beautiful songs she had that didn’t fit nicely into that timeline. The Bolter is only about the narrator and her tendency to leave as soon as she senses cracks in a relationship and how it gives her a sense of relief to escape situations even if it makes the other person upset with her. She equates that feeling to escaping the ice.

Sunchi

Love your videos! If I had to pick, I think The Prophecy is my favorite ugh it’s so good ❤️

Janet Michelle

So sorry if you've answered this, but are you going to react to the Eras Tour? Or has he? I couldn't see it. Thanks guys!!

Janet Michelle

Olivia and Taylor aren't the first singers to write songs exactly like that and Taylor had been writing for 2 years and released like 3 others albums as well. She wouldn't add a song to her track list if it wasn't meant to be there out of spite. They're both great songwriters so let's empower both women! :)

Tee Cee

I think this is my favourite album. I love chunks of the others, some more, some less, but as a whole I love this one, and I mean all 31 songs! Listening along with you just makes it even better! Thank you ❤️

Kelly McCord

imgonnagetyouback is such an underrated bop. i forget about it and then it comes on and im immediately entranced. its one of the songs that i most get into while jamming in the car. you just gotta move your body to it, its so fun to jam to

Jen Fagan

I started watching your TTPD reaction on YouTube and got about 3 songs in and ran over here to subscribe and watch the full thing because it was just so enjoyable.
