Slight Concern (Patreon)

As usual, this week's Classic Uploads are up so go check those out if you have not yet. This post is more a discussion thing.

So Patreon released an update today with some new features and what not, but it also made a few changes about its policy on Adult Content.

Now before it was clear that Patreon could not be used for porn (i.e fund a person to make videos, livestream or photos of him/her doing naughty things for money) but these new changes seem to apply to the Art Side of Patreon's Mature Content.

The first thing it brings up is that Patreon cannot be used to fund certain  categories of fictional erotic content (Such as Incest, bestiality, sexual depiction of minors, and suggestive sexual violence). Not really an issue on my end as I do not really draw or write anything in those categories though the "sexual depiction of minors" brings back memories of Deviantart's stance of certain Pokemon characters that were aged up in the art work being taken down because DA still considered those characters "under aged". Then there's also Age Regression which is a a worry. Even though the character is Age Regressed and NOT engaged in any sexual acts, does that still fall under "sexual depiction of minors"? 

The next part is probably the bigger concern and that's "All Public Posts must be suitable for all audiences". In other words it sounds like I can't have a free Mature Upload post and all Mature posts must be either Patreon Only (Which I believe means you still have to pay some amount) or a Donation Post. A bit of a pickle in that it sounds like I can't even tempt anyone that visits with a interest in Mature content with a freebie unless its a preview or I post the preview some place else. If I have to upload freebie Mature Content on my Preview galleries only, that's okay but ugh, just still many places people have to go.

I figured I would talk to you the Donators first about this small issue as since you donate you more then are entitled to know about this first before I consider my next action. From the looks of things, I may have to change certain Free Posts into Patreon Only posts, which I know will effect those who cannot afford a donation for reasons but I really can't risk Patreon seeing one of those public posts and issuing a suspension to my account till I change it. A suspension on Patreon means you won't get any donation money till you resolve the issue and they lift the suspension so really it could happen at any time. @_@ In regards to the content Patreon won't allow, it should not be a problem for as mentioned, I don't really draw or write things like Incest, bestiality, etc. The part I am worried about I'll just have to be careful about and keep in mind for future ideas I have.

Keep in mind NONE of this effects you the Donators, its more an issue for anyone that does not donate to my Patreon. Let me know what you guys think about Patreon's new changes and if you think I'm doing the right thing in regards to turning certain Public Posts in Patreon Only posts due to these policy changes by Patreon.

After a short while and after reading your feedback, if any, I'll make a decision and let you guys know what I'll do. In the event Patreon did suspend me or such, you guys know where I am on other sites like Deviantart, Twitter, Pixav and the Facebook group, I will let you guys know whether it be through Patreon or if they won't allow it, then through one of the other sites. ;)
