Hello guys! Here's an update regarding the new living world frameworks coming in MoR's next big update.

I've recently completed the religion system and begun working on factions - and how the MC can interact with the world around him in various ways. Factions, and their different types of influence/political interests, will play an important role in the new political events engine that turns Ikaanos into a living world that evolves around the player instead of being the rigid arena it is right now.

Screenshots 1 and 2:

Here's an example of what might happen in Redhaven in a worst-case scenario; when Ikaanos reaches the state of Anarchy (control drops below 4). The General Store has closed down, raiders are everywhere and roads to Westside are blocked – forcing the MC to pay a toll to a local band of Highwaymen. Fortunately (?), the Anarchy state is rarely seen unless you're actively working towards it, have an evolving bandit/rebel quest or play on the Grimdark difficulty.

Anarchy can be cleared by donating huge amounts of weapons/cash to anti-anarchy factions, defeating all spawned raiders across Ikaanos or striking against certain highwaymen strongholds.

Screenshots 3 and 4:

The faction system is very sandbox with complete freedom for the MC to annex, interact with or exterminate his neighbors.

You can vassalize other factions, even if that either requires millions of dollars in investments (like with the religious communities) or through quests/combat/usurping their leader. Doing so will immediately transfer their power value to yours and by further enhancing your vassalized faction with cash and gear, you can indirectly increase your own power value.

Having a vassal faction provides a considerable cash boost. The main income, however, is massive amounts of Influence. Influence will soon act as a new currency to purchase forbidden tech or make other moves toward the ruling elite of Ikaanos at The Palace (new location).

Screenshots 5 and 6:

The MC can now build a shrine in his own home and use it to pray to the god(s) from there instead of using cheat buttons. He can also raise his Devotion in the Crystal Cathedral or the new Church of the Holy Virgin (Catholic faction – screenshot 7 and 8).

Release

All this will be included in next week's Alpha A2 update! The Alpha A3, released sometime by the end of this month, will also see a new End Day screen – making the shifting of days much, much more interesting than what it currently is. Stay tuned! And check our Discord for daily updates.

Alright. Have a great weekend!
