One other exciting feature, or features, in 0.8.2, are the new Domestic Events and Dynamic city frameworks. These will be replacing the End Day events and transform both your household and Ikaanos into a living, breathing world that fundamentally changes the way you're able to play the game.

I wanted to show you some pre-Alpha screenshots of how it looks right now. Sorry for the wall of text!

DOMESTIC EVENTS

The MC can now encounter up to three Domestic Events per day and respond to them in several different ways: Endorse, Say nothing or Reprimand.

Screenshot 1:

Damn. Lovisa broke the mirror. Again! But at least she tries to make things better around here by bringing in some flowers. Should I reprimand or endorse?

Eliana, whose Malevolent Trait executed a special event (5% chance of that happening), won't stop torturing Lovisa. What shall I do in response to this? Press Lovisa further into depression by taking the Bully's side, let the girls have their way and not interfere, or reprimand the bully?

Screenshot 2:

I decided to be Mr. Nice Guy. I Endorse Lovisa and Reprimand the Bully. Sure, Lovisa's Willpower has increased, but she's also Happier. I figured breaking the mirror and having Eliana bullying her is enough for one day.

There are also many, many other unique events that could trigger - training sessions, fights between girls, NPCs trying to have their way with a WILLPOWER-low slave, just to mention a few. As a rule, you're likely to see at least one event each day. Having more household occupants increases the chances of an event happening.

Events, and slave interactions through events, are limited to Wife, NPCs, first and second primary slaves and the top two "Annex" slaves.

POLITICAL EVENTS

There will be a dramatic change in how the game evolves after 0.8.2 goes live. Hundreds of political events can now trigger and the MC may even try to influence the evolution of Ikaanos by a wide variety of actions.

The city now has three values, Prosperity, Corruption and Control, that determine everything from prices, spawn chances, influence gains and cultural expressions.

I've made a new wiki entry to better describe how they work.

Just next to Domestic Events are the Political Events, as you can see in the same screenshots. In this particular example, I've played a long game, gifting hundreds of weapons to the raiders of Marston avenue and Stokke Hills, while random events have hammered Skyguard and other factions several months in a row. The CONTROL value has plummeted, which has executed a special event, as you can see in the screenshot, involving the Spheremasters desperately trying to halter the growing lawlessness by hiring mercenaries.

With my powerful household, I'll continue to work against those bastards, however, eventually providing Aria's rebels with a freeway straight into Crystal Heights.

In screenshot number three, you can also see Anarchy-specific events affecting both my household and the inner city. This has happened after a spiralling chain of bad events that were further enhanced by my own lawless actions.

All these new systems are scheduled for a 0.8.2.1 release. They'll go live on the Alpha server right after 0.8.1.6, which is roughly 3-4 weeks from now.
