Lee looks thoughtful. “Let’s see. Pay close attention now – I’m going to give you some tasks to do, and even though you’re in trance, and pretty deeply in trance still, certainly as deep as you need to be or as you want to be in order for all of this to feel really, properly, great – I’m going to give you tasks and you’re going to find that physically you’ll have no problem performing them with the same amount of dexterity you’d have if you were completely awake.

“Actually, for some of them you’ll probably have greater dexterity than you usually do when you’re awake, let’s aim high!”

Your body is still nodding along to Lee’s words. Every so often you have another swallow of water, which just deepens that blanket of acceptance that surrounds you.

(“And you and your body performing the tasks that I set for you, for it, is another way of saying ‘yes’, which means that every time you do whatever task it is that I set, you’ll still be saying ‘yes yes yes’ with every movement, in every muscle, and if that is something you can do, just finish off the rest of that water now.”)

You drain your water glass, which Lee then takes away from you and sets on the counter behind you.

“Now, how shall we begin?

“Stand up.”

Without consciously planning to, you hop off the stool and stand in front of Lee. (Yes.)

“Stretch your arms out wide.”

Your arms shift. (Yes.)

“Leave your arms where they are, and spin your body slowly until I say stop.”

You begin to spin. (Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.)

“Stop spinning, and put your arms down.”

Your body comes to a relaxed stop. (Yes.)

“KNEEL.”

You don’t even feel the impact with the floor as your legs buckle under you. (YES.)

What do you say once you’re on your knees?

  1. “I kneel for Lee.”
  2. Nothing
  3. Whatever Lee tells me.
  4. “Obedience”
