K-pop needs Shinee and to have them come back this year filled that void + Taemin & Key put on CRAZY solo concerts in the past few months, but just think about the next time when they’re together for a group release with Onew !!! (An SM 2024 schedule release did state a mini album at least for this year so maybe the summer of Shinee will return ??!)

Aespa was mesmerizing while watching it live, I watched their performance several times after the show ended, shinee was epic but as someone who isn’t into nct dream I would say that they stole the show that night, it was special and somehow emotional even if I don’t stan them or anything !

For Shinee variety+promotion for anyone looking I would recommend all the MMTG episodes, they did ones for Don’t Call Me, Hard, and for key and taemin solos—you get to see their personalities and let loose with JaeJae

NCT Dream is in their 8th year and their maknae JISUNG is still 21/22 y.o 🤧 He's still so young but has achieved so much already (all Dreamies too) 🥹🎉 I'm so proud of them srs 💚 Also, thinking of it, earliest required for the members to go to military is still 2028/2029 ('00 line). That's crazy!! (Unless they decided to enlist earlier than that)

My favorite performances are: NCT Dream, Aespa, Riize SM center productions really went all-out with these award show stages of their artists 🔥 as they should!! Please I hope you could react to NCT (U, Dream, 127) year end stage as well. They're insaneee! Their SBS gayo perf 💯💪

This marks 10 years since they got Artist of the Year at Melon in 2013. At the time, shinee created the rookie grand slam and never a Daesang. (Mind you EXO was sweeping awards as rookies after 2012 debut) it was an emotional time for them to get that recognition after 5 years into their career. This was dream girl/why so serious/everybody era in that one year. Fun fact about Everybody: during music show performances, they would put “you got this” or “song is almost over let’s go” on the teleprompter since it was the most difficult choreography at that point.

PD. Taemin hasn't danced in years.. he's been doing his military service lmao Also disagree, Shinee is definitely a 2nd gen group and that's not really up for question, they literally debuted only a year after SNSD and before 2ne1.

i'm so sorry pd but this is nowhere the best shinee performance out there, this to me is only the standard😭 i'm being so serious, in my opinion they go this hard in looots of stages but i do have to say that in this one they were definitely trying to prove something and probably that's why you felt it so grandiose, since this was their comeback to award shows, after many years of not attending as a group they brought that 2nd/3rd gen vibe back to the scene, they had everyone standing, not a single idol in the crowd left behind, everybody was vibing and hyping them up, when i watched that i was like "yeah this is what the industry has been missing", they're larger than life, and without them half of the industry probably wouldn't be here, OOOPS I SAID IT🕺lool i have to agree with you guys talking about the change in their music and performances, after what happened in December 18 i feel like the guys have been doing their craft like jjong would have wanted them to but, at the same time i can't help but feel like they're driven by nostalgia as well, and to me nostalgia can translate as fear of death, fear of not being able to feel greater things in comparison to their peak in the past, in interviews i always hear them talk about how reminiscing they are of their past all the time, they say there's no convo where they don't bring something up about it, i might be crossing the cheesy line rn and going way too deep lol, however, i don't see shawols talk much about it either, i'm glad you guys touched the topic. i believe they are looking for that peak again and trying to make it constant! at least that's how it feels to me, i'm so happy to see you enjoy their art pd, and it's great to have blaire to guide you into the shinee rabbit hole, i'll still be patiently waiting for the onew circle mv reaction and for some other iconic performances!! i know the tokyo dome concert is PEAK and i love it but production wise i still prefer the shinee world IV concert, thanks for the shinee love ya'll :)

See heres the thing, yes earlier SHINee songs may have sounded processed but that is exactly why so many Shawols will tell you to watch their live performances because that is where it becomes authentic and you can FEELL THE SOUL. I hope one day, you guys get to watch their concerts because they are topp tier. Everybody 2014 and Sherlock 2015 are legendary

Renjun and Chenle is Chinese !of course everyone knows Mark is Canadian hehe. So they don’t have to go to military right since not born in South Korea? While Heachan , Jeno , Jisung & Jaemin only truly Korean in Nct Dream! Nct vocals are not joke . I would love see NCT Dream live in concert .

Also i think the reason why taemin dances so hard with SHINee is because he truly loves performing with his team. You can especially see it when they had their first comeback after all the older members enlisted you can tell that Taemin really missed them!

i have been WAITING for this reaction for shinee bro its so GOOD it revived my shinee phase full force in a way i did not anticipate but truly this video and the christmas performance rebirthed me as a key bias im so serious hes got my heart LEAPING that man is crack for lesbians their stage presence and performance remains untouched even after all these years- i saw a video of the idol seating during their performance and its insane the way you can see the impact they had on the newer generation of idols

For SHINee it was their first award show performance since 2016 so it has been too long since they did this as a group outside of their own concerts & music shows; even end of the year stages as a group last time they did it was December 2016 & they did after so long last year Their energy in their own concerts is insane ( group or solos ) way better than this performance actually; they are amazing performers; one of the best performers in the industry

SHINee are 2nd gen they debuted in 2008; they debuted a year after SNSD only; they just were so young when they debuted that some forget. Onew & Jonghyun were almost 18, Key & Minho were 16 and Taemin was 14 so they are close to age with groups that debut years after them like 3rd gen groups, but they are a 2nd gen group. Taemin was like teen with years of experience lmao one of the funniest thing is Taemin is younger than most Exo members and younger than 2 bts members but they debuted after him so it’s confusing lol most SHINee songs aren’t processed at all; their older b-sides are great and the vocal power in a lot of the songs and the soul is insane. rdd as a song is a song they personally never wanted either; they only has like 2 other songs that kinda similar to rdd but other than that most of their bsides are completely different & they were creatively involved with their music & production since 2012 Like Blair also said the skill is the same as before they just have little more edge while performing in a sense. I personally would say their skill has been in similar level since 2014; their energy in general as a group had a whole maturity and skill leveled up since 2015; as someone who watched all of their concerts; since 2015 & they have been relaxed and confident on stage than they did ever before that & it just continued Their concerts before 2014/2015 were good but they weren’t on same level as SHINee as they have been since 2015 & they stayed consistent since then in terms of energy and skill level just add to it them gaining more experience as soloists in the mix that increased the maturity on stage with each year to them in a way which is normal I would say

Taemin got out of the military on 4-4-2023. Military doesn't impact dance ability in anyway at all

Pd I would absolutely loooooove some shinee reactions to earlier MVs and their concerts. I don’t 100% agree that this was the best shinee performance ever, I think it’s worth going back and feeling the energy they had as 5. They had something magical and it’s incredible how they’ve evolved into one of the god tier groups of today. Tbh I was shook when you said you hadn’t seen the Sherlock MV??? That was so iconic and the Jessica cameo from SNSD… anyways I hope you can do some more shinee reactions 💎

I totally get your reservations about reacting to older SHINee performances, but honestly, the vibe is incredible here, and it's so magnified at their concerts. It's more of a happier vibe since they're all together and with their fans, but they still go insanely hard for songs like Everybody, and even the slower stuff. As for skill level, I truly think if you go from about 2015 onward (Shinee World IV,(View, Married to the Music era), or Tokyo Dome era), you still get a pretty similar level of skill and presence, with the added bonus of Jonghyun and Onew's vocals. I think the main thing with performances like these ones is that it just feels more modern, the technology is different, they play with the choreo and cameras and arrangements, but the older stuff really does hold up.

Also I agree with Blaire in that they've been at this top level for a while now. I feel like I've seen better performances from them, even though this one is so good and I keep rewatching it, I think this is the level we almost expect from them now. Even in their recent solo concerts, the microphones were loud and they sounded incredible, they went hard on the dancing, etc etc

PD I think if you enjoyed the dream performances you would LOVE some of the rearranged stages from their TDS2 Encore Concert they did mid last year, glitch mode rearranged is actual perfection!

I agree with everything, in term of “grit” I think the Shinee World IV 2015 (the Seoul one, especially the opening) and Shinee World V in 2016 have the same vibe

As soon as Shinee starts I was the same as Blaire! Also please do an in depth shinee experience series!! I got to see them as ot5 in 2012 at the KBS NY festival and they did Lucifer and RingDingDong and seeing and hearing them live will always resonate deep within my soul. I can still hear Jonghyuns high notes cascading throughout the entire freaking audience which was thousands just on an open field and we could still hear him all the way in the back. I will never feel complete again with out Jonghyun. He was the second voice I connected with after JaeJoong when I first got into kpop 13 years ago. I still remember where I was when I found out he left this world. I'll never be the same ever again. And now Onew has been missing and hes my bias too its just so empty with out him. I need him back NOW. Shinee will always just be it for me. Them and DBSK. Side note: DBSk held all of SMs souls. NCT Dream.....where do I even start?!?!? I just fucking cant with them on so many levels. I cant believe I got to see Broken Melodies and ISTJ live at the Jingle Ball concert in Boston!!!! I cant believe I have a video of Haechan and Chenle singing those notes live in my possession. They only did 5 songs but holy fuck was it worth it. They ended with Trigger the Fever and everyone lost their minds. And they went back to korea straight to MMA like WTF! This entire stage is INCREDIBLE. From their dancing to singing live to their outfits just mind blowing!! 👏👏👏🤌🔥 I don't know how they can keep topping themselves but they do and I'm legit scared for what they're gonna be like in the next few years! Having both Shinee AND Dream in my top 5 I honestly can't choose. Shinee will always hold intense nostalgia for me and hearing them do Everybody, Dream Girl, and Sherlock made my cry. But then DREAM just completely made me swoon. I cant choose. Both of them are what I'm living for right now. They're both icons.
