Some clarifications: This was actually the first time Levi's last name was mentioned in the story. Kenny was a serial killer in the capital (inner wall), where he slit the throat of many military police as mentioned in episode 1. But now he is part of the military police. Which is why Levi is confused about why and how did Kenny join the MP. It was mentioned in the previous episode that the new Levi squad is: Eren, Armin, Mikasa, Jean, Sasha, and Connie. Who are all in charge of guarding Eren and Historia.
