You mentioned wanting to see them in concert again, well.. they have announced a new world tour but no US dates yet. Also if you want to check out more concerts i highly recommend their Break The Wall Tour in Seoul, from 2022. Their latest tour. You can find it on youube with good quality

Julie

Thanks for the reaction ☺️ This album is really a masterpiece! And don’t worry, we all cry at the end. You are not alone there. I hope you will also react to the units MV. We already got 3 out of 4 and they are utter perfection ❤️ I am certain you will love them. Fair warning: the youth MV might make you cry. And to add on Youth: Mingi wrote it some time ago and he requested Yunho to sing it with him when the units were formed. Their friendship is so beautiful. Yunho is definitely an anchor for Mingi

I'm lucky enough to fly to Seoul next week and be able to see the start of the tour live! The past 3 The World albums are just the perfect set-up for an epic show.

Also with your comments on the unit tracks and how each member made you feel (ESPECIALLY in Youth) made me want to see your reactions to the Unit MVs! I think just like how the Unit songs highlighted the members so well and showed us things we might keep forgetting (like the fact that San is a god damn INCREDIBLE vocalist), the MVs continue to do so and maybe even go beyond the song itself. Jongho's MV for Everything is the last one to be released next week, but just from the preview alone I stand by that... So yeah maybe checking out the Unit MVs, which are SO different (?) from other Ateez MVs I feel like, but SO uniquely Ateez and the units, could be very interesting!

Dil9899

Before I forget... Yunho and Mingi are actually not that surprising as a unit! I think Yunho mentioned somewhere that they were talking about Yunho and Jongho doing a uni song but it made more sense for Jongho to do a solo. And seeing the story of Yunho and Mingi, having met in School, wishing each other luck for their audition without knowing they both applied for KQ and ending up meeting at KQ, becoming part of Ateez... Yeah it made sense to me that those 2 form a unit... I always assumed that Youth was also referring to Mingis hiatus and what led up to it, but watching the MV and knowing some parts of their backstory (as you said, Mingi's beak and the reasons for it were well communicated), it made me tear up so much more... Long comment sort answer, I absolutely adore Youth as a song. I could give just as long of an essay as a reason as to why I love the other songs but I'll just say... DAMN I've never anticipated anything more than seeing the Unit stages, Arriba AND SILVER LIGHT (!!!!! PLEASE KQ!!!!) live! And of course Thank You for the Reaction! I was really looking forward to this :)

Since you were wondering Matz is Seonghwa and Hongjoong's unit name they came up with bc they're the two oldest in the group and the same age. And yeah MATZ is the definition of a sub-unit song, Seonghwa said he knew he'd only be able to explore this genre in a sub-unit with Hongjoong so he requested this direction for the song. Eden originally suggested they try a love song. Also hope you'll be able to react to the unit mvs they're all really high quality imo.

First, I thoroughly enjoyed watching all the emotions you went through throughout this album. I felt exactly the same. I dunno how they do it, but they are truely epic artists. I want to sit down with them one day and just talk about it. Silver Light is one of those songs where it feels like they didnt ask permission to look deep into my soul, saw something and made the song just for me. Hearing Mingi singing and having such emotions in his voice gave me chills and makes me so proud of him for how far he's come. Fin: will made me cry the first time hearing it. Just the instrumental of the song proves that music was made for emotions. Also it fits so perfectly as the ending to this era. The whole World era being a post apocalyptic World where any form of emotion and self expression is banned. Then to make a song like this where it's mostly instrumental and to make it so freaking emotional. Like it's just epic story telling in music form. This is my fav trilogy besides the Treasure era. They have truely become epic artists not just kpop idols. They have transcended kpop with this album. I'm so freaking proud of all of them! Try being Yeosang biased. When are we getting solos from all of them?!?! After even these unit songs we know they have the capability to all make solo songs!! I hope you'll react to all the unit songs mvs!! I cant believe they made mvs for all the units songs! They're insane!

"This is my fav trilogy besides the Treasure era." same. i never thought i would love anything more than treaure era but they truly outdid themselves

tanasia

This album has such a special place in my heart. It released right at the end of the worst semester of my life, and I found so much comfort listening to the songs and diving into the lyrics. It's so ridiculously hard for me to pick a favorite song because it really depends on the day I'm having, one always speaks to me more than another. Dreamy day I think has settled as my favorite song. More often than not, I'd find myself wanting to listen to it while listening to a different song. It's so cute and happy and cheerful and it brings a smile to my face even when my day is rough. But Youth and Everything are close seconds for me.

Fin: WILL still makes me incredibly emotional. I've never had an instrumental intro/outro that I listen to on repeat, but I have with this one. It invokes such a strong emotion in me and I don' t know if any other song has done that for me. Whenever I hear it, I always close my eyes and think about my personal journey with Ateez. I may not have been there since the beginning, but I've been happier and felt more joy and peace in my life since I started listening to their music. Before kpop and Ateez, I felt like I was just living life, rarely feeling any strong emotion, I felt almost emotionless. Ateez, through their music and who they are as people, have brought that emotion back into my life, and that emotion means the absolute world to me; I feel like I'm truly living again. I look forward to a future filled with more emotion, more happy memories, and more Ateez music

Loved this album. I think Youth and is in my top ten Ateez tracks of all time. Mingi doesn’t often show his heart, but when he does the depth and nuance of thought he has is beautiful. I’m glad he finally got to produce an Ateez song after so long and that he also wasn’t forced to do it with Edenary. It truly encapsulates his style as an artist. He also told us today that he contributed to the creative direction for the MV. I can’t wait to see more from him! I have to agree that I think We Know and Youth (and Everything) are my faves on the album. In terms of overall ranking I think it’s my third fave album behind Outlaw and Fever Pt. 2, and it shows so many of the best sides of Ateez. On a funny side note, like 90% of Atiny twitter thought Matz was going to be an emotional song considering how special their friendship is and how Joong has written songs like Thank U about it before. But then it was fucking wild and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such intense whiplash in my life 😂 Going from Dreamy Day, which is an Atiny song like you said, then expecting a cute emo song and then getting THAT??? Wild 😭

jongdongwoong

we know, silver light youth and everything.. those just hit different everything just makes me so emotional. when i listen to it i just feel so proud. he put so much work into getting his voice to where it is now. and for him to get a solo and to show off his skills. it's what he deserves for sure. whenever i hear his voice in general i just get reminded how much hard work went into his singing. and as a jongho biased i couldn't be happier with the song 🥹 he did so well and in general i would love to hear more mingi produced songs. those are always my favourite. it's so .. mingi. and i just love his producing style so much

Mystical Snow

Youth is a song that truly hurts for lack of a better word but in a good way. Mingi wrote it during his hiatus. Originally Yunho and Jongho were supposed to have a duet, but when they asked Mingi who he wanted to perform his song with he chose Yunho, and that’s how we got this gem. Yunho and Mingi have a lot of history together, and have been friends since middle school. They realized their dreams together, chased their futures together, and debuted together. They’ve been through it all together. They spent their youth together, their 20s. Mingi really really loves Yunho. He’s his best friend and Mingi expresses his feelings about their friendship all the time. Yunho is so incredibly important to him and it’s so clear to see when you watch the MV for Youth. And knowing Mingi had a hand in their MV direction makes it even more special. It’s almost like he wanted atinys to know that he wasn’t alone, Yunho was always by his side, through all his hardships and darkest nights, through his youth. Needless to say, I cried multiple times watching their mv 🥹 Speaking of, you have to watch their unit mvs!!! I absolutely fell in love with Silver Light. There’s just such an emotional nuance to it that makes it so beautiful, it made me cry the first time I listened to it ngl and the raps!! Hongjoong rapping off beat and his lyrics GOD I love him. All I can say is rap line completely popped off this album. And Yeosang’s part made me super emotional, I loved it so much. Speaking of Yeosang, he and Wooyoung had SUCH a presence in this album! I’m so happy we’re finally getting to hear so much more from them. I love both of their voices sm and I’m so excited to see what they have in store for the future. They really got to shine in their unit song, especially Wooyoung. His voice is perfect for those types of songs and I’m so glad they utilized it. Also IT’s You is everything I wanted from them. Fun fact about the song, because of the capitalized letters, if you ask Siri/ Alexa to play the song, it’s pronounced “I Tease You” they’re menaces LOL In regard to San, I think it’s so easy to forget that he’s a vocalist because his performance skills completely eclipse it. That man is a performance beast, so people often overlook his vocal ability, but people don’t realize that before he was a dancer, he was the lead vocalist of Ateez. IT’s you was truly the track to remind everyone that San was and still is ateez’s lead vocal. MATZ was actually supposed to be a love song, but during the initial stages, Seonghwa wasn’t feeling it and pulled Hongjoong aside to tell him what he really wanted to do. Hongjoong was actually really skeptical at first, but Seonghwa was confident and managed to convince him and they created this beast of a track. Joong told him that if they were gonna do it, they were gonna do it right and oh boy did they do it alright. Hongjoong said they had more than 400 files for matz. In conclusion, Seonghwa has never had a bad idea in his life. I swear that man is a goldmine of creativity and ambition. He actually never misses. Also this album was their first album to reach #1 on Billboards 200!! It was a steady climb and they got there. For reference Outlaw was #2 and Movement was #3. Truly a gradual climb 😭 I’m so incredibly proud of Ateez. I can’t say for sure which album is my favorite but it’s definitely one of their World albums. All three installments have been so incredible, I can’t choose which one I love more. For sentimental reasons I may still like Movement more but Outlaw and Will are a very close second and third. Honestly they’ve truly knocked it out of the park with this World era, truly their best works in every sense. These past three albums are definitely a top 3 for me though.

This is one of my favourite albums from them! The unit/solo songs are absolutely perfect and I'm so happy they were finally able to do this. The concerts are gonna be even crazier haha I'm so excited Also, the last song on the album was such a beautiful way to end this trilogy/saga/arc. Stunning!!

bihter88

Please react for all ateez sub unit MV too. I really like your reaction and review for ateez 😊

Lauren Miller

I agree, I think conceptually, Outlaw is my favorite of the trilogy, but this album is so damn special. It has so much identity packed into it, in both the title track and story "adjacent" b-sides as well the unit songs. Matz (short for makhyungs as they're the oldest in the group) said that Eden suggested doing a love song for their unit, but ultimately it was Seonghwa who wanted to try a more hip-hop cypher-esque style and really put his all into the lyrics and vibe so Hongjoong did his best to make it happen. For Wooyoung, San, and Yeosang, not only did they have a hand in the song creation, but they worked with the stylists directly to choose outfits that expressed their personalities while suiting the song and choreo, and they each got to show off what really makes them unique: yeosang's swag and vocals, san's sensuality and falsetto, and wooyoung's charisma and powerful dancing. With "Youth," Mingi actually composed it during his hiatus back in 2020 I believe, when he was going through a hard time. And seeing as he and Yunho have been best friends since before they joined KQ, it seemed only right that they do such a personal, emotional song together; their tones and dance styles complement each other beautifully. A lot of people, myself included, were expected a JongSang (Jongho and Yeosang) subunit, but I'm not mad that Jongho got a solo; it's absolutely beautiful. I hope in the future we get get to see him branch out a bit more and collab with Yunho or Yeosang (or San, Choi bros ftw) like us Atinys have been dreaming of for so long... I'm excited for you to check out the MVs associated with the subunit songs! They provide great context (espec Matz, hello sasaengs...) and are directed beautifully.
